Paranoia - Sticky labels.
=========================
Hello All,
During the Festive season, a particular hate of mine, in fact a
paranoia, has been increasingly added to by the major high street
shops. It is the ubiquitous sticky label. Why, why and quintuplet why
do these bastions of our society commit us to spend our well earned
winter break period trying to remove these evil and annoying little
chaps from the goods we have purchased. The one that really did me in
was on a special Christmas card I purchased. It would not come off, I
ended up obliterating the said card and I hadn't even managed to peel
the corner! There are two varieties that get up my nose particularly,
the one is the little tiny one on that says 69P on it, when you get it
home you start to pull it off. You get the corner up and start to peel
ever so gently, and yes it starts to come off, then you find it is made
up of three parts and the last bit WILL NOT come off, why make them in
three parts?? The other one is about 2" by 3" and looks a beast from
the start (I usually refuse to buy anything with this type of label!)
and when you get it home it confirms that it is a beast. You can
usually get 90% of it off but most of the glue and 10% of the paper is
always left behind. How can the manufacturers know which 10% to make
unremovable, how do they know which corner you will start on? Do they
know something we don't?
Yesterday I purchased some Addis storage bins for the shack, and low
and behold, they had the biggest, brightest labels I have seen for a
good few years literally plastered all over them. I refused to buy
them but the YL said they would be OK and purchased them for me
(paranoia does have it's benefits) I got them home and guess what?
These lables were of the highest quality, you lift the corner and they
come straight off, no glue or paper left behind. I couldn't believe
it! I even tried sneaking up on them, attacking them from behind but
they still came off without problem. I even tried the high speed
removal trick, it worked! These particular labels are a boon to anyone
like me, my new year gloom is lifting ever so slowly now.
All I can say is:
NICE ONE ADDIS!!
Happy New Year to all and best regards from Mick G4XMH @ GB7BAD
