  1.             *** SHOCKING TRUTH DRILLS AND SUNDAYS ***

  4. On  first  appearance the average DIY domestic  drilling  machine 
  5. would seem to be good value for money, a labour saving device, an 
  6. innocent  enough piece of equipment you might think. When  viewed 
  7. in  the  DIY  new superstore envioronment by  the  trendy,  young 
  8. morgaged to the hilt newly weds the machine and Sundays take on a 
  9. whole new meaning.......QRN.

  11. Once purchased as soon as spare time permits the unit is put into 
  12. immediate  service shelves constructed, walls, ceilings,  floors, 
  13. doors  in  fact  everything in sight it  would  seem  is  drilled 
  14. relentlessly  without  remorse. Until I eventually after  several 
  15. months   of   constant  activity  one  must  assume   the   whole 
  16. accomodation  becomes  honeycombed or converted  into  one  large 
  17. hole.

  19. This  is eventually confirmed by the "FOR SALE" notice  appearing 
  20. outside the property. Like Woodworm the occupants move on to  new 
  21. pastures with the satisfaction of hearing along with the noise of 
  22. the drilling machine, the estate agents remarks "well maintained" 
  23. still ringing in their ears.

  25. Propertys like this do not stay empty for long and are  generally 
  26. soon  "snapped up" by mostly retired couples looking for a  "hole 
  27. in  the  market". Alterations are quickly made usually  with  the 
  28. Tropical   Rainforest  materials  obtained  from  the  said   DIY 
  29. Superstore  and the drilling cycle generally re-starts  within  a 
  30. few weeks.

  32. This information and the conclusions made above were obtained  by 
  33. many  carefull hours of research mostly on Sunday mornings  using 
  34. my  state  of  the art high frequency  receiving  equipment  with 
  35. directional  tuned  antennas despite some heavy  Qrm  from  radio 
  36. amateurs, many good unsuppressed signals were logged, my best  dx 
  37. was a drilling rig in Potters Bar. But that was a long while ago.
