The ARM Club PDCD2 - Release Notes
==================================
This CD includes a World Wide Web style catalogue which can be run by double
clicking on !Catalogue. Follow the blue links by clicking on them. To use
the catalogue you must have RISC OS 3.1 or later and at least 2MB memory.
Alternatively, simply browse the Contents directory.
Before loading the catalogue, you will need a copy of !Scrap on writable
media such as a hard disc. In the unlikely event that you don't have one
(Risc PC owners should have one inside the !Boot structure), copy the one
out of the System directory and double click on it before running
!Catalogue.
RISC OS 3.1 owners should also ensure that they have a copy of !System to
hand. You may need to run !SysMerge in the System directory to update your
!System with the one supplied in that directory.
The catalogue includes a searchable index that works rather like an Internet
web search engine (such as Lycos, Altavista and so on). This will often
enable you to find anything that you're looking for in seconds. To use it,
go to the searchable index page (click on the blue link) and type in the
keyword which most closely identifies what you are looking for. For example:
Template
will return a choice of three window template editors with links to open the
corresponding directory displays. Matches from the PocketBook section will
be suffixed with (PB).
There are also a selection of web sites on the CD. To view some of them, the
Truncate configuration option must be switched on. Further details are
provided via a link from the main catalogue page.
Occasionally ArcWeb seems to throw up an "Error accessing local file" when
you double click on !CATALOGUE. If this happens, close the window and double
click on !CATALOGUE again.
