ListPro Tips

Use ListPro for any kind of list: instructions, tasks, shopping.
It's especially useful for steps in a process you do frequently,
but that doesn't recur at regular intervals, for example, releasing
a new product. Special features for shopping
lists create
another very useful way to use ListPro.
Ordered lists combined with Notes give you a way to record detailed
instructions. Resetting your list lets you easily use lists over
and over. Categories and Notes let you group items in many ways.
Amounts lets you add values (any kind: dollars, minutes, cups, boxes,
etc.).

Use ListPro as a powerful, multi-level Notes organizer. Use list
items as your note titles, and put your notes into the Notes field
for each item. Then organize the notes into lists, folder and
list files, just the way you want them.

We've provided some lists in our Sample and More list files.
Of course you'll primarily want to make and use your own lists,
but might want to use some of the items on these as starting points
for a few of your lists. You can edit and customize these lists,
as well as making your own. Copy our sample and master
list files to other files, so that they don't get overwritten if
you reinstall ListPro.

You can easily move lists between files using the Windows CE
Clipboard. Just select a list in one file, copy it, and paste
it into another file. You can have ListPro running more than
once to make this even easier. You can also use the clipboard
to move items between lists.

You can sort the items in your lists by any column, just by tapping
the column header.
When you sort the list by tapping on a column header, items with the same value
remain sorted in the previous sort order. For example, if you'd like to look at
your items grouped by Category, but you'd like to see them in order by Amount
within each Category, simply tap the Amount column header first and then the
Category column header.

You can see and use information in fields that are not displayed in your list.
Simply include the data in those fields when you're creating
or editing your list, then double-tap the item to see its
information. If you have the Notes Pane showing, any data in the
Notes field will always be displayed, regardless of whether you have selected
the Notes field for display in List Properties.

You can easily create and edit lists on your desktop
with our desktop companion
version.

You might want to use the Amount field for the amount of time a task takes. If
you want to record some amounts in minutes and some in hours, you can
use the Units field to identify each.
Then when you use the
Display Total menu pick to see the total amounts, you can select
subtotals by units, which will add up the hours and minutes separately.

You can also use Amounts to track spending, or help you count items.
For example, if you have a list of addresses to deliver boxes to, you
can enter the number of boxes for each in Amount. Then it's easy to
show the total of boxes you should have before you leave!

The sum of the Amounts fields for all items currently showing is also
displayed in the Status Bar.

Make your lists more readable by changing the fonts in each column.

Choose Don't Show Checked Items to hide items
you've checked, if you only want to see what you still need
to do.

Combine ListPro's features to make the
lists work just how you want. Using the fields in ListPro
can help you organize a
number of things you don't usually think of as lists.
Check out the ideas in our included samples!
