  16. Las Vegas Slots PRO is an extremely realistic slot machine simulation. It is a
  17. very graphically interactive program with outstanding sound effects. Each spin
  18. allowsas much as 8 chances of winning and bets between $1 thru $24. The
  19. application will keep track of your winnings or losses and keep a running
  20. tally of your attempts. The jackpot will dynamically increases for each
  21. non-jackpot winning spin by $0.10 to $0.51 per spin depending upon the bet
  22. amount. Games in progress may be saved for later play. The program has two
  23. playing modes, normal and restrictive. The normal mode allows players to utilize
  24. the program without limitations. You can even accumulate a negative bank
  25. account. The restrictive mode places the program in a "real-life" environment.
  26. The program can be completely controlled by a single individual allowing only
  27. certain people to play, by setting-up player accounts. In this mode Players must
  28. buy spins in advance using their own personal account number. Player accounts
  29. can be set-up with credit limits and impose limitations on how much a user be in
  30. dept. It also allows users the ability to cash-in by printing their winnings or
  31. having their winning credited toward their dept.

  34. Requirements:

  37. - Windows 3.x or Windows 95

  39. - VBRUN300.DLL installed in your Windows/System directory. This file may already be
  40. in your system. Many other programs require this file. You may have received it already
  41. without knowing so. Otherwise, this file can be found almost anywhere where Windows
  42. software is available for downloading. Usually titled: VBRUN301.EXE or VBRUN300.ZIP.

  45. Installation:
  46. =============
  47. In order for this application to work properly, it must be installed
  48. in a directory other than a root directory. For instance, installing it
  49. in the following directory will not be correct:  C:\   However, if it was
  50. installed into a sub-directory such as: C:\slots Then it will be fine.

  52. - Run Install.exe using the RUN option from the file menu of Windows Program Manager or 
  53. double click on the Install.exe icon from the File Manager.

  92. V2.0 would cause a "Type Mismatch" error for some people using non United Stated
  93. Versions of Windows. This problem appears to be fixed in V2.1. and above However,
  94. if you should come across this problem and are using Windows 95 or Windows 3.11
  95. you will able to set your currency setting for United States. Therefore,
  96. alleviating the problem. Here's how:

  98. - Go to the 'Control Panel'
  99. - Load 'Regional settings' utility
  100. - Set the region to 'English (United States)'
  101. - Choose the 'Currency' option
  102.   The settings should be already configured correctly. Check to make sure the
  103.   following options are set-up:
  104. -   Currency symbol = $
  105. -   Position of Currency Symbol = *1.1
  106. -   Negative Number Format = (*1.1)
  107. -   Decimal Symbol = .
  108. -   No. of Digits After Decimal = 2
  109. -   Digit Grouping Symbol = ,

  114. I'm not sure if Windows 3.0 or 3.1 users have an ability to configure their
  115. settings to allow previous Las Vegas Slots V2.0 to function for users
  116. utilizing a non US version of Windows 3.x.

  123. - Las Vegas Slots is distributed as Shareware. The Author maintains all rights to the
  124. program in its entirety.

  126. - Las Vegas Slots may be distributed freely as long as the integrity of Shareware is
  127. maintained.

  129. - In the tradition of Shareware, the author grants a 30 day trial period to the user to
  130. decide whether they want to keep the program. If so, a $19.95 payment (Plus Shipping
  131. and handling. See order form in the HELP menu for details) is required. If not, then
  132. before the 30 days is up, you must delete the program from your system.

  141. Here is a break-down of the difference between Shareware and Registered limitations
  142. imposed on this program. The benefits of registering this application is GREAT. See
  143. the Order Form from the Help menu for registration details:

  145. SHAREWARE USERS:
  146. 1.  You will only be allowd to choose from the first two (total = 15) wheel designs.
  147. 2.  You will only be allowd to choose from the first two (total = 6) winning sound options.
  148. 3.  You will only be allowd to choose from the first two (total = 7) losing sound options.
  149. 4.  You will only be allowed to bet between $1 and $8 ($16 and $24 bets are unavailable).
  150. 5.  You will be prompted to register by 'nag' windows set on time intervals continually
  151.     while the program is running.
  152. 6.  The upper-left area of the slot windows will continually flash 'Unregistered Copy' as
  153.     long as the program remains unregistered.
  154. 7.  Whenever you run the program or attempt to exit you will be prompted by registration
  155.     windows"

  157. REGISTERED USERS:
  158. 1.  You can use all 15 wheel designs, including Randomize which will select random wheels
  159.     for every spin.
  160. 2.  You can use any of the 16 sound effects, also including Randomize which will select
  161.     random sound effects for winning and losing spins.
  162. 3.  You can bet any amout including $16 and $24.
  163. 4.  You will no longer be prompted by 'nag' screen to register the program. The program
  164.     will start and exit directly without registration prompts.
  165. 5.  The upper-left flashing sign, 'Unregistered Copy' will no longer appear.
  166. 6.  Best of all, Your conscious will be clear knowing you are paying for what you
  167.     are using. Paying for shareware allows authors to see the benefits for updating
  168.     their software and making a wonderful program into a great one.

  237. - Set-up System Administration option to allow a person to control who has
  238. access to play while in restrictive play mode. System Administration allows
  239. the controller to create user accounts and can impose credit limits on users.
  240. New users are given randomly generated access numbers which is their personal
  241. identification number (PIN). They use their PIN to buy $$$ to allow them to
  242. spin. The bank will not go below $0 in restrictive mode. To gain access to
  243. the system administration features you must use a password.

  245. - Buy and Cash-in options established for restrictive play modes.

  247. - View Statistics has been added to show users how often each symbol position
  248. - has been comming-up, this indicates what's Hot and wha'ts Not.

  250. - View Player Info has been added for users in restrictive play modes who can
  251. see how they are doing. It shows their winnings, dept and credit limit.

  253. -  Disabled many features while in restrictive play mode. users in this mode
  254. cannot simple exit the application or use "Auto-Spin" features. They cannot
  255. save a game or recall a game or restart a new game, and they cannot reset
  256. the jackpot. This mode puts players at the mercy of the System Administrative

  274. previous settings will be set. This affects sounds, bet and wheel type.

  276. - Added $16 and $24 bet values. $16 bets will essentially double the winnings
  277. from the $8 bet while the $24 bet will triple the winnings. However, the bet
  278. costs are doubled and tripled. The $16 and $24 bets are also jackpot
  279. eligible like the $8 bet.

  285. - Fixed a small bug where counters could not go above 33,000. If this occured
  286. an error would occur and the program would unload. To fix the problem the user
  287. only needed to select RESET. Now counters can go above 2 billion each.

  289. - Fixed a bug where an alert stating "Type Mismatch" would occur for some users who
  290. use non United States versions of Windows. Due to currency differences the program
  291. would not be able to compute winnings/losses. Therefore, it would alert
  292. the users. Now, the problem is fixed.

  298. - Fixed a small bug in v2.1. The Autospin feature was not reset from testing mode.
  299. Autospin did not work correctly in v2.1. The wheels would continue turning without
  300. a stoppage between spins. Now, it runs as it should.

  306. - Added 10 new wheel designs that may be selected, bringing the total to 15
  307. different wheel designs that may be selected.

  312. - Added "Wheel Stop" sounds. Whenever a wheel column has stoped a realistic sound
  313. can be set to play.

  322. the application. The EXE is larger than in previous versions because of this

  326. disappear when other windows would appear on-top of them. Now, the wheels designs
  327. will continually appear. The only exception is entering or leaving restrictive
  328. play mode, you may still see the wheels designs temporarily disappear.
