  12. cmp is a program, which compares files in two directories  (or trees).
  13. That can be very useful, e.g. to examine in a backup, which files have
  14. been changed / are new.
  15.  
  16. With  cmp  it is also possible,  to compare two files  and display the
  17. differences (hex-dump).

  22. cmp  ist ein Programm,   welches Dateien in zwei Verzeichnissen  (oder
  23. Bäumen) vergleicht.  Dies kann sehr  nützlich sein,  um z.B. bei einem
  24. Backup zu untersuchen, welche  Dateien sich geändert haben bzw. hinzu-
  25. gekommen sind.
