Fruit beer, a style that is gaining in popularity in America, can technically be divided into two categories: fruit beer, which is any ale or lager made with fruit; and classic-style fruit beer, which is any classic style of ale or lager to which fruit has been added. With a fruit beer, the character of the fruit should be more evident in its color, aroma, and flavor than with a classic-style fruit beer.
