- The version 1.24 updated files include a new V.EXE player, Install program,
- and different sound drivers.
-
- This new version should overcome the following problems:
-
- o VESA-in-rom problem. If your particular video card contains its VESA
- driver within the video bios rom of the card, the new version of V.EXE
- should now properly intialize and work with your card.
-
- o S3-type video card support. The S3-type cards are now supported in
- MCGA mode. SVGA mode is just too slow.
-
- o Error 20/02 Sound Buffer Failure. Rather than exiting the game with an
- error 02 or error 20, this new version will reinitialize sound cards
- on the fly if a sound buffer failure occurs thus allowing the player
- to continue the game. If you are experiencing periods of silence (sound
- card initialization), you may wish to reconfigure your system to provide
- better support for the sound buffer. The best support can be provided by
- a CD-ROM controller on an isolated DMA channel (preferably 16-bit) and
- a sound card on its own isolated DMA channel.
-
- o Tandy MPC IRQ 10 support. The new install should allow IRQ 10 selection
- for TANDY MPC computers which feature this setting.
-
-
- Other notes:
-
- If the sound cuts out during the game and you are using IRQ 7, you may wish
- to change the IRQ setting -- some mother boards generate spurious IRQ 7s.
-
- You may obtain information about your system by typing "V ?" from the
- directory where The Seventh Guest is installed.

- Thank you for your patience and support,
