  5. What is this file?
  6. ------------------
  7. This is a communications document for Smartcom for Windows. If you do not have
  8. Smartcom for Windows run to your local software retailer to buy it or order it
  9. from your favorite mail order house. Until 7/31/93 you can buy this for $49
  10. from Hayes at 404-441-1617 if you cannot find it locally. You cannot use
  11. BBS.SCW without Smartcom for Windows.

  27. [1] - o - [ SCWIN DIALER ] - Dialing directory interface provides easy calling
  28. and phone book management. Circular dialing, , credit card support, phone
  29. prefixes, and auto-online logon buttons make this one of the best dialers ever

  35. Dialing Directory Interface             Uses standard 'dialing directory' user
  36.                                         interface for simple dialing. Also
  37.                                         allows you to dial lots of places
  38.                                         without having to create lots of
  39.                                         comdocs.

  41. Intelligent Dialing Directory           You tell it what your local area code
  42.                                         is and it knows whether your call is
  43.                                         long distance or not and adds the
  44.                                         appropriate dialing command. Change
  45.                                         your local area code when traveling

  105.                                         to the system. (First Name, Last Name,
  106.                                         Address buttons, etc.) NOTE: Be sure
  107.                                         to edit these buttons before use!

  109. USBB2DIR.EXE                            This utility takes the US BBS List and
  110.                                         converts it to the text format usuable
  111.                                         as a dialing directory. Call ONLINE
  112.                                         WITH HAYES to get the latest list then
  113.                                         update your directories fast! BBSs
  114.                                         sorted by state for easy selection!

  116.                                         (*NOTE* This is a DOS program written
  117.                                         in Clipper meant to run on the DOS
  118.                                         command line. You MUST have expanded
  119.                                         memory available in order for these
  120.                                         utilities to work!)

  122. [2] - o - [ RCV MANAGER ] - Ok so now you've downloaded some ZIP files and you
  123. want to look at what you've got! That's where the RCV MGR comes into play!
  124. This unzip files to the destination of your choice! Fast file management
  125. without ever leaving Smartcom! This is the EASY way to deal with downloads!

  128. [3] - o - [ SCOPE COMMANDER ] - Heh, how bout a command line interface for
  129. SCOPE?! This allows for a one line SCOPE command, compiles it, runs it then
  130. returns to the COMMANDER. If there is an error in your command line the script
  131. will stop. This is an excellent way for someone who is learning SCOPE to
  132. practice. It also mimicks that command line interface option of Xtalk Mk4. It
  133. is NOT necessary to end a command with a ";" (semi-colon) like in SCOPE as the
  134. COMMANDER adds this automatically for you but if you do happen to do it by
  135. habit it will politely ignore you.

  137. [4] - o - [ DELETE SCW ] - Ever pulled up FILE/OPEN and said "boy there sure
  138. is a lot of stuff here I don't use, never will, and would like to trash" ? If
  139. so, this one's for you! This reads all the *.SCW <comdocs> and let's you
  140. delete one.

  142. [5] - o - [ RENAME SCW ] - Ever pulled up FILE/OPEN and said "Now why on earth
  143. did I name it that?" ? This reads all the *.SCW <comdocs> and let's you rename
  144. one.

  146. [6] - o - [ PROGRAM RUNNER ] - This program mimics what you get under FILE/RUN
  147. in PROGMAN but it remembers the last command you typed. Also support command
  148. line arguments as well.

  150. How do I install it?
  151. --------------------
  152. Copy to contents of the distribution disk to your \SCWIN\COM\ directory.

  154. CAUTION: If you already have a BBS.SCW file rename it to something else or it
  155. will be overwritten!

  157. You will need PKZIP (I recommend version 2.04G available on almost any BBS).
  158. If you continue to use it - pay for it. The guys are PKware are straight up
  159. dudes - be straight up with them.
  160.
