Telix for Windows Advance Orders Being Taken, Wide Beta Available
Cary, North Carolina, April 15, 1994 -- deltaComm Development, Inc.
announced today that it will soon begin shipping its popular Telix
Professional Communications software in a Microsoft Windows version.
Telix for Windows version 1.0 will be released June 15th, 1994, but
currently registered users of Telix for DOS may place their upgrade
orders now, and receive access to pre-release copies of the program.
"We know customers are chomping at the bit to get at this fantastic new
product," said President Jeff Woods, "and we just don't want them to
have to wait any longer than they have to." Woods said that in addition
to allowing an early peek to existing customers "as a way of saying
thanks for your patience", a primary reason for the wide beta program is
to insure the widest compatibility with existing Windows installations.
Woods added that the lower upgrade price available to those customers
willing to assist in the final testing stages made upgrading early
attractive to loyal Telix users, saying "We're very excited about the
advance upgrade program, and the opportunity to work hand in hand with
those who've made Telix possible."
"We've worked very hard to make all of the features of Telix for Windows
as compatible with as many installations as possible, but sometimes
video driver anomalies have made this a daunting task," said Senior
Software Engineer Sean Palmer. "We feel we've conquered the video
driver compatibility issue, and want to make sure that the final product
is error free on a wide range of Windows systems."
Advance orders, at the special introductory price of $39 plus shipping
for upgrading registered Telix users, or $99 plus shipping for new
customers, are now being taken at 800/859-8000 or 919/460-4556. Those
placing advance orders will have immediate access to the final stages of
the wide-area testing phase via download to insure the greatest
compatibility with video drivers and configurations of Microsoft
Windows. The complete shrink-wrap package will ship to all buyers in the
order in which the purchases were made starting June 15th, 1994, at
which time the prices will revert to their normal levels of $119 for a
new copy, and $49 for upgrading Telix for DOS customers.
Prices and availability may vary outside of North America. Contact
