  7. DESCRIPTION
  8.  
  9. 4A Launch is the ultimate application launcher for Windows.  With 4A
  10. Launch's specially modified 'Open' dialog box, you can browse all your
  11. floppy and hard drives for applications to run.  As an added bonus, you
  12. can choose how you want your application launched (either maximized,
  13. normal, or minimized).

  16. INSTALLATION
  17.  
  18. Place the files 4ALAUNCH.EXE and 4ALAUNCH.HLP on any floppy disk, hard
  19. disk, or network drive, then place the file THREED.VBX in your
  20. WINDOWS/SYSTEM directory.  Access to the file can be accomplished through
  21. Windows, OS/2 or the Windows shell program of your choice.

  23. To ensure proper operation, make sure that the 'Current Directory' or
  24. 'Default Directory' setting in the Properties box is set to the directory
  25. that contains 4ALAUNCH.EXE and 4ALAUNCH.HLP.

  27. If you wish to make 4A Launch your Windows Shell, please see your Windows
  28. documentation for instructions on editing the SYSTEM.INI file.

  30. SINCE 4A LAUNCH WAS WRITTEN USING VISUAL BASIC, THE FILE VBRUN300.DLL MUST
  31. BE ACCESSIBLE TO THE WINDOWS SYSTEM.  VBRUN300.DLL can be found on
  32. CompuServe, America OnLine, most bbs systems, or directly from 4A Software
  33. (to order from 4A Software, see the file REGLAUN.TXT).

  36. REGISTRATION AND LICENSE AGREEMENT
  37.  
  38. The use of 4A Launch is subject to the following terms and conditions:
  39.  
  40. 4A Launch is copyrighted material, protected by the copyright laws of
  41. the United States. You may not make any changes or modifications,
  42. decompile, disassemble, or otherwise reverse-engineer the software
  43. in any way.
  44.  
  45. 4A Launch can be used on a trial basis provided the user does not
  46. violate the protection afforded the licensed software by the copyright
  47. laws, and the user agrees to the terms of the license agreement. If the
  48. user continues to use 4A Launch past a 30 day evaluation period the user
  49. is obligated to purchase a license.
  50.  
  51. 4A Launch can be used on a Local Area Network provided that a license is 
  52. obtained for the number of users that may concurrently use the software.
  53.  
  54. A license for the user of 4A Launch can be obtained by sending the
  55. appropriate fee to:

  63. Title to the licensed software is NOT transferred to the end user. The 
  64. end user is granted an exclusive license to use the software on one
  65. computer at any given time.

  68. DISTRIBUTION
  69.  
  70. Users are granted a limited license to copy 4A Launch only for the trial
  71. use by others subject to the terms of this software license agreement
  72. described herein, and the conditions described below are met:

  74. 4A Launch MUST be copied in an unmodified form and MUST contain the
  75. following files:
  76.  
  77.    4ALAUNCH.EXE
  78.    4ALAUNCH.HLP
  79.    LAUNCH  .TXT
  80.    THREED  .VBX
  81.  
  82. No fee, charge or other compensation may be accepted or requested by
  83. anyone without the express written permission of 4A Software.
  84.  
  85. Public Domain Disk Vendors, Shareware Disk Vendors and Distributors of
  86. public domain and user supported software may not charge a fee for 4A
  87. Launch itself. However, you may include 4A Launch on a diskette for
  88. which you charge a nominal distribution fee. The purchaser of said
  89. diskette must be informed in advance that the fee paid to acquire the
  90. diskette does NOT relieve said purchaser from paying the registration
  91. fee for 4A Launch if said purchaser uses 4A Launch.

  93. Operators of electronic bulletin board systems may post 4A Launch for 
  94. downloading by their users without written permission only as long as
  95. the above conditions are met. A fee may be charged for access to the bbs
  96. as long as no specific fee is charged for downloading 4A Launch files.

  99. LIMITED WARRANTY
  100.  
  101. 4A Software does not warrant that the licensed software will meet
  102. any requirements or that the operation of the software will be
  103. uninterrupted or error free. The warranty does not cover any media or
  104. documentation which has been subject to damage or abuse by you or others.
  105. The software warranty does not cover any copy of the licensed software
  106. which has been altered or changed in any way.
  107.  
  108. ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES INCLUDING ANY WARRANTIES OF MERCHANT ABILITY OR
  109. FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE ARE LIMITED TO THE TERM OF THE EXPRESS
  110. WARRANTIES. Some states do not allow limitations on how long an implied
  111. warranty lasts, so the above limitation may not apply to you.

  113. The warranties set forth above are in lieu of any and all other express
  114. or implied warranties, whether oral, written, or implied, and the remedies
  115. set forth above are the sole and exclusive remedies.
  116.  
  117. 4A Software is not responsible for any problems or damages caused
  118. by the licensed software that may result from using the licensed
  119. software. This includes, but is not limited to, computer hardware,
  120. computer software, operating systems, and any computer or computing
  121. accessories. End user agrees to hold 4A Software harmless for any
  122. problems arising from the use of the software.

  124. 4A Software SHALL NOT IN ANY CASE BE LIABLE FOR ANY SPECIAL, 
  125. INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, INDIRECT OR OTHER SIMILAR DAMAGES ARISING
  126. FROM ANY BREACH OF THESE WARRANTIES EVEN IF 4A SOFTWARE OR ITS AGENTS
  127. OR DISTRIBUTORS HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGE.
  128. Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or
  129. consequential damages, so the above limitation or exclusion may not apply
  130. to you.

  132. In no case shall 4A Software's liability exceed the license fees
  133. paid for the right to use the licensed software.
