  3. ------------------  Installing Better Colors  -------------------
  4.  
  5. 1. Create a subdirectory for the Better Colors files. 
  6.  
  7.    Example: Using File Manager, select Create Directory in the
  8.    File menu and enter "C:\WINDOWS\BCOLORS". 
  9.  
  10. 2. Copy all of the Better Colors files to the new subdirectory. 
  11.  
  12.    Example: Using File Manager, either select Copy in the File
  13.    menu or drag the files to the new subdirectory
  14.    (C:\WINDOWS\BCOLORS).  The distribution files are listed at
  15.    the end of this text. 
  16.  
  17. 3. Create a Presentation Manager icon to run BCOLORS.EXE. 
  18.  
  19.    Example: Open the group window in Presentation Manager that
  20.    you want to add Better Colors to.  Choose New from the File
  21.    menu, select the Program Item option, then fill in the
  22.    Description as "Better Colors", and the Command Line as
  23.    "C:\WINDOWS\BCOLORS\BCOLORS.EXE".

  25. 4. Double-click on the new icon to start Better Colors. 
  26.  
  27. 5. Press F1 or click on the Help button for instructions whenever
  28.    the main Better Colors window is displayed. 
  29.  
  30. -------------------  Upgrading Better Colors  -------------------
  31.  
  32. 1. Make sure that Better Colors is NOT running. 
  33.  
  34. 2. Copy all of the new Better Colors files to the original Better
  35.    Colors subdirectory. 
  36.  
  37.    Example: Using File Manager, either select Copy in the File
  38.    menu or drag the files to the original subdirectory
  39.    (C:\WINDOWS\BCOLORS).  The distribution files are listed at
  40.    the end of this text.

  42. 3. The old version of Better Colors has been overwritten. 
  43.  
  44. The new version will run the next time Better Colors is started. 
  45.  
  46. -----------------  Uninstalling Better Colors ------------------
  47.  
  48. 1. Make sure the Better Colors option to "Automatically load when
  49.    Windows starts" is NOT selected. 
  50.  
  51.    Example: Click on the Better Colors Options button and uncheck
  52.    the "Automatically load when Windows starts" box. 
  53.  
  54. 2. Make sure that Better Colors is NOT running. 
  55.  
  56. 3. Delete the Better Colors Program Manager icon. 
  57.  
  58.    Example: Click on the Better Colors icon in Presentation
  59.    Manager, then press DEL. 
  60.  
  61. 4. Delete the Better Colors subdirectory and files. 
  62.  
  63.    Example: Using File Manager, click on the C:\WINDOWS\BCOLORS
  64.    subdirectory and press DEL.  WARNING: Be sure to delete ONLY
  65.    Better Colors files.  The distribution files are listed at the
  66.    end of this text.

  68. 5. Delete the file BCOLORS.INI in the Windows subdirectory. 
  69.  
  70.    Example: Using File Manager, click on the BCOLORS.INI file in
  71.    C:\WINDOWS and press DEL. 
  72.  
  73. Better Colors and all associated files are now completely removed
  74. from the system.
