  1. Bloat V1.2 is a Windows 3 program which you can use to find out why your
  2. hard disk never seems to have any free space on it, and to help with
  3. clearing it of unwanted files.

  5. To install Bloat V1.2 simply copy the files BLOAT.EXE and BLOAT.HLP
  6. to a directory included in your PATH, such as your utilities or
  7. Windows directory. Use the New Item on the File menu of Program Manager
  8. to place it in a Program Manager group.

  10. If you wish to use Bloat to create compressed archives then you should
  11. also copy the BDB.EXE and BDB.PIF files to a directory on the PATH. These
  12. two files MUST be in the same directory to operate correctly.

  14. There is no documentation file with this version of Bloat. The on-line
  15. help should include all the information required to run the program.

  17. Bloat uses a Dynamic Link Library (DLL) called THREE_D.DLL to enable it to
  18. display its dialogs using a 3D sculpted effect. The program will, however,
  19. function without this library being available (it just doesn't look as
  20. good). If you obtained Bloat from a Bulletin Board then it is possible that
  21. the library will not have been included in the distribution. It may be
  22. available from the same source with the name 3D.ZIP. If you register Bloat
  23. then you will be sent a version which includes the DLL.

  25. Bloat is a shareware program. You may use it for 21 days to decide whether
  26. you wish to register it. If you continue to use it you are expected to
  27. register it (using the form included in the documentation). Registration
  28. costs ú15 or $25US (cheques only) and entitles you to free upgrades of
  29. version 1 of Bloat.

  31. You are free to distribute Bloat to friends and to upload it to Bulletin
  32. Boards provided the Help file, the documentation file, and this file are
  33. included and you do not charge for distributing it.

  35. However, shareware vendors should first contact Babbacombe Computers for
  36. permission before distributing Bloat, unless they are ASP or ASA-UK
  37. approved vendors. Disks containing Bloat distributed by shareware vendors
  38. should include THREE_D.DLL, if possible.

  57. If you like Bloat then you may wish to try out another program by the same
  58. author, called Dupe. This is another Windows 3 program which will quickly
  59. search one or more disks, or parts of disks, or a network, for duplicate
  60. files - duplicates being considered files with the same name or contents,
  61. as required. Having found these files it will then allow you to print a
  62. list of them, view them and delete them. Dupe registration is normally
  63. ú15 or $25US but is ú10 or $17US for registered users of Bloat. Both can
  64. be registered together for ú25 or $42US.
