The idea behind the pagekits is that you can either use the ideas here as is, and develop them from our startpoints, or you can take the bits that you need and customise them for your own use. Obviously, to make the best use of them you'll need to know some basic html.
The big thing about GLASS is the "blank" homepage with the discovery of the menu through javascript rollovers. Basically, what it does is replace one image with another as you roll over and off the button.
To customise your homepage, you can either add text (the font is New Century Schlbk) to images that don't have rollovers and add the javascript, or take the "_off" image for an existing section and add your own text on top, saving the image over the existing "_on" image. thereby replacing the rollover image with what you want it to say.
We've also included a blank title image - the font here is Arial.
Just as a quicky tip, Jpg images work better for this kind of image where there is lots of detail than do Gifs.
In this case it's replacing the 1st image (eg about_off.gif) with a second (eg about_on.gif) and then as you roll off it puts the 1st image back again. They're defined at the top of the page within the script tag and then implemented later on with the further code around the image itself.
There is also a "sniffer" at the top of the code looking for Netscape 3 and above and Internet Explorer 4 (the only browsers to support this kind of javscript).
Have a play with it and try to see what's going on. Essentially the javascript in the body of the tables is calling out to the function at the top.
