  5. To install Cool Edit, unzip it into a new directory such as C:\COOL.  Then
  6. create an icon or link to it in Windows.  For example, from File Manager,
  7. select COOL.EXE and drag it into the Program Manager group of your choice.
  8. Alternatively, you can select File->New from Program Manager, select Browse,
  9. and then find COOL.EXE and choose it.  If you are using Windows 95 (tm), go
  10. to the Cool Edit directory and drag COOL.EXE to your desktop or to the folder
  11. of your choice.  (NOTE:  Cool Edit 95 is available for Windows 95 and NT
  12. users at Syntrillium Software's web site at http://www.syntrillium.com.)

  14. NOTICE TO REGISTERED USERS OF PREVIOUS VERSIONS:  You will need a new number
  15. to use version 1.53 if you registered at version 1.50 or below.  E-mail your
  16. name and address to syntrill@aol.com to request a new number free of charge.

  25. To Register, pull down Cool Edit's Help menu and select "Registration Form".
  26. This Help topic explains how to register; to see the form itself, click on the
  27. words "Registration Form" at the bottom.  You can select the entire form with
  28. the mouse and then copy it to a text editor or word processor.  You can choose
  29. from among 3 registration levels:

  31. $50  - Basic Registration  You will receive a registration number that will
  32.        unlock your copy so you can use any function at any time.
  33.  
  34. $100 - Preferred Registration  You will receive a registration number and
  35.        automatically receive shareware updates as they are released.  You are
  36.        also placed on our preferred list which will entitle you to other
  37.        goodies and special offers in the future.
  38.  
  39. $25  - Lite Version  You will receive a registration number turning your copy
  40.        of Cool Edit into Cool Edit Lite.  If you have no need for all the
  41.        fancy effects offered by Cool Edit, then register at this level.
  42.        This version has all the features of Cool Edit except for the
  43.        following:  Compressor, Delay, Distortion, Echo, Echo Chamber,
  44.        Envelope, Filter, Flange, Noise Reduction, Quick Filter, Reverb, and
  45.        Generate DTMF Tones.
