CAUTION: If you DO NOT have a video card with an NCR Chipset,
installing SOFTMODE.SYS in your CONFIG.SYS file will
lock-up your machine. You will have to have a BOOT DISK
to regain control so you can remove the SOFTMODE.SYS
command from the CONFIG.SYS file.

To install the SOFTMODE.SYS vesa driver in your CONFIG.SYS, do the following:
1. Copy the SOFTMODE.SYS file to the root directory
on your boot drive.
2. Add the following line to your config.sys file:
DEVICE=SOFTMODE.SYS /M:12 /V
3. You must reboot your computer to install the driver.
4. If your computer locks up and does not return control
to you, insert a bootable diskette into your floppy drive
and reboot. Then remove the SOFTMODE.SYS command from your
CONFIG.SYS file.
