[2. How to use Internet EZ Search]
Internet EZ Search allows you to select the engines you want by simply checking
them off. Then type your search criteria and click <Search> Give it a try!
Q:How do I ensure that every link listed is unique and not listed twice?
A:Ever notice than when you are searching the Internet that you can get multiple links
to the same page? To be sure that each link is listed once just
1. Click on the "Options" menu
2. Make sure "Remove Duplicates" is checked. If it is not then click on it.
This will make sure that each link is only listed once.
If you don't mind having links listed multiple times, turn this option off.
Q:How do I ensure that the links that are listed actually still exist?
I don't want to click on the link and jump to a web page that no longer exists.
A:1. Click on the "Options" menu
2. Make sure "Verify Links" is checked. If it is not then click on it.
This will make sure that each link does in fact exist. And if you click on it,
you will be taken to a valid web page.
Suggestion: This is a very time consuming operation. It connects to each web
page to make sure that it does exist, just as if you went to that web page by
hand. If you are into "quick and dirty" searches, leave this option off.
Q:How do I turn off the messages that step me through the searching process?
(I know how to use the program. I just want the messages to go away).
A:If you are an expert at using Internet EZ Search, you may get tired of the
messages popping up that tell you how to use it. Just
1. Click on the "Options" menu
2. Make sure that Show Hints is not checked. If it is checked, click on it to
turn it off.
This will prevent the hints from popping up.
If you are just learning Internet EZ Search, you may want these hints turned on.
Just make sure that Show Hints is checked.
Q:How do I view the results in a Web Page?
A:Sometimes you may want to view your search results in a web page instead of the
list in the Internet EZ Search window. If you want to view your results in a web page just
1. Click the "Options" menu
2. Make sure that "Show Results in a Web Page" is checked. If it is not, then
click on it.
If this option is checked, the results will be displayed in the list as they
normally would. Once the results are completely returned, your default web
browser will be launched and it will display your search results.
Q:How do I save the engines and search criteria I selected?
A:Internet EZ Search will always save your settings and restore them when you
start the program again. It save the engines you selected and your search
criteria.
However if you would like to save different configurations or different lists
of search engines and search criteria, you may save your current configuration
to a file using the 'File..Save', or 'File..Save As' menus.
To restore a previously saved configuration use the 'File..Open' menu.
Q:How do I restore the engines and search criteria I saved before?
A:Internet EZ Search will always restore your settings that you last used.
It restores the engines you last selected and your search criteria.
However if you would like to load different configurations or different lists
of search engines and search criteria that you have saved before click
'File..Open' and choose one of the configuration files you have saved before.
