Welcome to the PC Games CD-ROM! Each month we bring you a selection of demos
of the latest new games. The Welcome screen lists all of the disc's demos and
what platforms you can play them on at a quick glance. Just toggle down with
the green arrows to see the complete list. For a narrated introduction, click
on the Greetings button to hear from our disc editor. Then click on the Take
Me to your Demos button to browse the full demo selection.
Clicking on the demo graphic takes you to an Information screen that lists
the system requirements, order and technical support phone numbers, and a
short description-everything you'd want to know in one place. We've even made
the ReadMe files instantly available, with an option to print. From the
Information screen click on the Play button for demos that run directly from
the interface, or click on the Install button for demos that require an
installation routine. Each DOS demo has a pop-up screen with installation
instructions and file paths. You can even print this list for easy reference.
You'll also find extras like our special CD-ROM subscription offer and a tour
of our Web site.

A few notes on how the PC Games CD-ROM operates:
1. The installation will not copy any files to your hard drive. It
will create a PC Games group and install icons for the interface
and this readme file.
2. If you don't have Video for Windows and Quicktime for Windows
installed on your computer, they are included on the CD-ROM.
Video for Windows 1.1e is located in the directory VFW11E; to
install it, run "d:\vfw11e\setup.exe". Quicktime 2.1.1 is located
in QTW211; to install it, run "d:\qtw211\setup.exe".
3. Even if you have VfW and QTW installed, you should install both to
be sure that you have all the latest files.
4. To uninstall the PC Games CD-ROM, run "d:\uninstall.exe". The
uninstall program will remove the PC Games icon and the readme icon
and then delete the PC Games group.
5. There are several programs on this disc that must be installed before
they can be played. To install these games, the PC Games interface
will copy the program files to a directory of your choice on your
hard drive. The appropriate setup program will be executed from the
hard drive.
6. Minimum system requirements to run the interface:
486, 640x480 VGA, 4MB RAM, major sound cards, double-speed
CD-ROM drive
