SHAREWARE ║XCOM2 GAME EDITOR ║ SHAREWARE
VERSION 1.1 ╚══════════════════╝ VERSION 1.1
The file XCOM2ED.EXE included in the zip file XCOM2S11.ZIP is a shareware
version of the full editor. XCOM2S11.ZIP should contain all of the following
files:
inst-ed.bat - Installs editor
xcom2ed.bat - Batch file to run the editor.
NOTE: DO NOT RUN UNTIL AFTER
RUNNING INST-ED.BAT
file_id.diz - BBS file description.
descript.ion- NDOS/4DOS Description file.
readme.doc - READ THIS! IMPORTANT INFORMATION!
register.doc- Registration Information.
vendor.doc - Vendor Information.
xcom2sfx.exe- Needed by install routine.
Once this editor package is installed, the following files will be in your
XCOM II directory:
readme.doc - READ THIS! IMPORTANT INFORMATION!
register.doc- Registration Information.
vendor.doc - Vendor Information
xcom2ed.bat - Batch file to run the Editor.
Also there will be a directory created under your XCOM II directory called
EDITOR. In this directory you should find:
xcom2ed.exe - the main editor program.
egavga.bgi - Video driver for the editor.
*.chr - Font files for the editor. DO NOT replace these
with other fonts, as they were created for this
editor, and are different from the normal .CHR
files that C++ uses.
The original file XCOM2S11.zip will be deleted from your XCOM2 dir during
the Editor install. Be sure to keep a copy on disk if you want to save it.

Thank you for supporting the shareware concept.
INSTRUCTIONS:
If playing from CD-ROM, you will have to do a full install of XCOM2 to your
hard drive, in order to fully utilize the editor. An installation routine
may be found on the CD in the Harddisk directory.
Go to the CD-ROM Drive and type CD\HARDDISK hit ENTER
Then type INSTALL hit ENTER
Follow on screen installation instructions.
If you use the default directory \MPS\TFTD, place the XCOM2S11.zip file in
\MPS\TFTD. NOT \MPS.
Place the file XCOM2S11.zip in your XCOM2 directory. PKunzip it. Then
type INST-ED. The Editor directory will be created and all necessary files
for the editor will be transfered there. Two new files will be in your XCOM2
directory, README.doc (this file), and XCOM2ED.bat (accesses the editor).
Following this, all of the XCOM2 files will be scanned for read only attributes
and all files will be set to a normal attribute.
After the install is complete, just type XCOM2ED in your XCOM2 directory to
run the editor.
USING THE EDITOR:
This editor is a bit different than the first editor we did for this series of
games, as we are now running in 640x480x16 graphics mode, with full mouse
control. Typing in anything is no longer necessary. We hope that you will find
that this editor easier to use, and more organized to look at.
WARNING ABOUT MAIN BASE INVENTORY:
1) If you put too much stuff in your base, you will NOT be able to order
anything else for that base until you get rid of some of your stuff.
2) If you put anything in your base that is of alien origin, or stuff you would
normally have to research, you still do. You will not be able to use them until
you research them, BUT you will have several of them to research, so it won't
take long to get to use them.
That's about it. Enjoy the editor.
