`E X T R E M E BALLS'
Version 1.0
The NO CHEAT Version
¥ (c)1995 by Weeds ¥
Finally you can choose how many balls that YOU want in
EPIC's Extreme Pinball! You can select 1 to 255 balls
(if you need more than that... well you must be worse
than I am <g>). This version of E X T R E M E BALLS
prevents the updating of your high scores (after all,
E X T R E M E BALLS is just for practice, right <g>?).
This program will only work on the registered version of
Extreme Pinball. *NOTE* CD version *MUST* be fully
installed to the hard drive.
First make a backup copy of the USER.TXT file that is in
your EXTREME directory in case something goes wrong
(i.e. COPY USER.TXT USER.ORI <enter>). Then copy the
file EBALLS.EXE to your EXTREME directory.
To run, type: EBALLS <enter>.
Now select how many balls that you want. When you exit
EBALLS, Extreme Pinball will automaticly run. You can
exit E X T R E M E BALLS and abort the whole thing by
pressing <control><break>.
If you are having memory problems make sure that you
have upper memory enabled (in your CONFIG.SYS file there
should be two lines that read "DEVICE=C:\DOS\HIMEM.SYS
and "DEVICE=C:\DOS\EMM386.EXE"), make sure that DOS is
loading high (in your CONFIG.SYS file there should be a
line that reads DOS=HIGH,UMB). Reboot your computer.
Then, at the prompt type: LH EBALLS <enter>.
Try doing a clean bootup (check out the HELPME.DOC that
came with Extreme Pinball).
Like I said before, anytime that E X T R E M E BALLS is
run your high scores will not be touched. When you exit
Extreme Pinball AFTER running E X T R E M E BALLS the
game will be reset to how it was set up before. If you
run Extreme Pinball without E X T R E M E BALLS then all
of your high scores will be logged.
If anything goes wrong simply restore the USER.TXT file
(you DID back it up didn't you?) and delete the
PARAM.DAT, PARAM.BAK, USER.TMP, and USER.BAK files
(if present) from your EXTREME directory. I have found
that if there is a problem (you aren't getting the extra
balls etc...), running E X T R E M E BALLS three times
in succession usually straightens things out.
Also the program temporarily changes the score files
(SCORE_x.DAT) read only attribute to on. If the power
glitches while running Extreme Pinball with
E X T R E M E BALLS, the next time that you play the game
normally this will inhibit the updating of your high
scores. Running E X T R E M E BALLS once will solve this.
Registration is cheap but not free! Simply send me a
postcard via snail-mail from your area to:

Being that my last uploads of BALLS and SILVERBALLS have
been downloaded more than 5000 times from CI$ alone, and
I have only received 3 postcards!!!!!, this program will
run only ONCE and then disable itself....
JUST KIDDING!!! But come on folks, Send Those Postcards!
Of course I will take no responsibility if your computer
blows up, one of the balls breaks the glass on your
monitor <G>, or your axe is out of tune, but it sure
works great on mine!
Have Fun!
