  1.                  Restrictions on the distribution of F-PROT
  2.  
  3. The F-PROT shareware package must always be distributed complete and
  4. without modifications.  We publish a detached PGP signature for the entire
  5. package, and any modifications to the file will invalidate that signature.
  6.  
  7. The only authorized modification involves the file available from the
  8. Garbo FTP site.  We can accept the modification, as we upload the file
  9. directly there.  However, because of this modification, the PGP signature
  10. cannot be used to check the file available on Garbo. 
  11.  
  12. Any other modifications to the package, including the addition of BBS
  13. advertisements are strictly forbidden - we want to be able to assure the
  14. users of our package that the product they receive is identical to the one
  15. we released.
  16.  
  17. Mass distribution of F-PROT in magazines or books requires approval from us
  18. or (in countries where we do not license the shareware version) the
  19. relevant local distributor of F-PROT Professional.  The same restriction
  20. applies to "bundling" of F-PROT with other products, including distribution
  21. as a part of a larger package or pre-installation on hard disks.

  23. F-PROT shareware may be made available on FTP and BBS sites, as well as
  24. included on CD-ROMs containing other shareware/freeware programs, such as
  25. the SIMTEL and GARBO collection CD-ROMs, provided the conditions below
  26. are not violated.

  28. Any distribution of F-PROT is subject to the following restrictions:

  30. We do not want to have F-PROT distributed together with viruses, virus
  31. source code, virus construction programs or virus creation material such as
  32. 40Hex, Crypt or the Nuke newsletters.  Please note that this also includes
  33. the so-called "Virus Simulator" from Rosenthal Engineering.  Therefore,
  34.  
  35.   1) F-PROT may not under any circumstances be made available on a site
  36.      which makes such material freely available.

  38.   2) F-PROT may not be included on a CD-ROM (or similar media) containing
  39.      such material.
  40.  
  41.   3) F-PROT may not be distributed as a part of a package containing
  42.      such material.

  44. We will consider legal action in the case of any violation of those three
  45. conditions.
