  1. PGP 2.6.3i for OS/2 availability

  3. [PGP 2.6.3i is a version derived from PGP 2.6.2, but without using
  4. RSAREF, with the goal of making PGP 2.6.2 available to non-US users.]

  6. The OS/2 version of PGP 2.6.3i is available from

  12. The executables archive contains a 32-bit (OS/2 2.x) executable, no
  13. 16-bit OS/2 1.x executable.

  15. PGP is a free public key encryption program for personal use, the three
  16. letters stand for "pretty good privacy". See discussions in sci.crypt
  17. or alt.security.pgp for details or read the docs included with the
  18. program. In the alt.security.pgp news group, a FAQ is posted
  19. periodically which contains a lot of useful information about PGP.

  21. I should also have mentioned, that people should not upload the program
  22. and/or the source code to any archive in the US that is accessible from
  23. outside the US. While PGP 2.6.3i was written outside the US and can be
  24. imported into the US by individuals using it, it may not be re-exported
  25. from the US (silly regulations). If you put it onto an FTP site or BBS
  26. where non-US users may download it, you can cause the archive
  27. owner/maintainer a lot of trouble.

  29. PGP 2.6.3i (source code, DOS executable) is available from several
  30. european (I don't know about other, such as australian) ftp sites.
  31. Other european sites that carry OS/2 software (there are quite a few in
  32. Germany alone) are encouraged to mirror PGP for OS/2 from the above
  33. site. A well-sorted PGP-related FTP archive can be found at
  34. ftp.informatik.uni-hamburg.de, under /pub/virus/crypt/pgp.
