  4. Abuse.Net is a file protector utility for Microsoft Windows 
  5. 95/NT 4.0 systems. It protects your files from access -- 
  6. including copying, viewing, removing and executing -- by 
  7. intruders, while you are surfing on the Net, and while you 
  8. are in offline but you are using a local network.
  9.  
  10. Intruders can be ActiveX controls and Java applets (!), as 
  11. well as hackers. They are utilize the security holes or unused 
  12. features of your operating system, your browser or other Internet 
  13. application.

  15. Abuse.Net protects your important private files, like letters, 
  16. e-mails, faxes, documentations, picture files, projects, 
  17. development stuff, and so on...

  19. With using Abuse.Net nobody can open your locked files.

  57. Before You Start

  59. Before starting the Abuse.Net installation process, shut down any 
  60. earlier versions of Abuse.Net open on your desktop. As a precaution 
  61. it is also recommended that you close any other open programs before 
  62. starting the Abuse.Net installation.

  64. Installing The Product
  65.  
  66. To install the application, start Setup.Exe. By default, Abuse.Net 
  67. installs into the \Program Files\OpenBusiness\Abuse.Net directory,
  68. and it is placed in your StartUp folder. This is the recommended 
  69. configuration because Abuse.Net will automatically appear in the 
  70. lower-right corner of your screen (in the system tray area) every 
  71. time you reboot your computer. You can quickly open the Abuse.Net
  72. main window by a double-clicking on the Abuse.Net tray icon.

  75. Un-installing Abuse.Net

  78. To remove Abuse.Net from your computer, follow the directions below:

  80. 1; Open the Control Panel folder
  81. 2; Double-click the Add/Remove Programs icon
  82. 3; Select Abuse.Net from the list displayed
  83. 4; Click the Add/Remove button. 
  84. 5; Follow the instructions that appear on the screen.

  87. Notes On Reinstall

  90. If you reinstall Windows 95/NT, and you are a registered user, 
  91. you MUST require a NEW and FREE key. To do this, enter this
  92. URL into your browser:

  96. The "reg" parameter is the old registration number of your copy,
  97. and "new" is the new one.

  114. You register by sending cash money to OpenBusiness Ltd., and will 
  115. receive a software key to unlock the shareware reminder by e-mail.
