  13. INSTALLING ACROBAT READER

  15. - To install Acrobat Reader 2.0 on your hard drive, from the 
  16.   Windows Program Manager, choose Run from the File menu; type

  88. NOTICE TO USER:
  89. THIS IS A CONTRACT.  BY INDICATING YOUR ACCEPTANCE BELOW, YOU ACCEPT ALL THE 
  90. TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF THIS AGREEMENT.
  91. This Adobe Systems Incorporated ("Adobe") End User License Agreement 
  92. accompanies an Adobe software product and related explanatory written 
  93. materials ("Software"). The term "Software" shall also include any 
  94. upgrades, modified versions or updates of the Software licensed to 
  95. you by Adobe.  This copy of the Software is licensed to you as the 
  96. end user.  You must read this Agreement carefully before indicating 
  97. acceptance at the end of the text of this Agreement. If you do not 
  98. agree with the terms and conditions of this Agreement, decline where 
  99. instructed during installation, and you will not be able to use the 
  100. Software. Adobe grants to you a nonexclusive license to use the Software, 
  101. provided that you agree to the following: 
  102.  
  103. 1. Use of the Software. You may install the Software in a single location 
  104.    on a hard disk or other storage device; install and use the Software 
  105.    on a file server for use on a network for the purpose of permanent 
  106.    installation onto hard disks or other storage devices or use of the 
  107.    Software over such network; and make backup copies of the Software. 
  108.    You may make unlimited copies of the Software and give copies to other 
  109.    persons or entities as long as the copies contain this Agreement and 
  110.    the same copyright and other proprietary notices that appear on or 
  111.    in the Software.

  113. 2. Copyright. The Software is owned by Adobe and its suppliers, and 
  114.    its structure, organization and code are the valuable trade secrets 
  115.    of Adobe and its suppliers.  The Software is also protected by 
  116.    United States Copyright Law and International Treaty provisions.  
  117.    You agree not to modify, adapt, translate, reverse engineer, decompile, 
  118.    disassemble or otherwise attempt to discover the source code of 
  119.    the Software.  You may use trademarks only to identify printed 
  120.    output produced by the Software, in accordance with accepted 
  121.    trademark practice, including identification of trademark owner's 
  122.    name.  Such use of any trademark does not give you any rights of 
  123.    ownership in that trademark. Except as stated above, this 
  124.    Agreement does not grant you any intellectual property rights 
  125.    in the Software.

  127. 3. Transfer. You may not rent, lease, or sublicense the Software. 
  128.    You may, however, transfer all your rights to use the Software 
  129.    to another person or entity, provided that you transfer this 
  130.    Agreement with the Software.

  132. 4. No Warranty. The Software is being delivered to you AS IS and Adobe 
  133.    makes no warranty as to its use or performance. ADOBE AND ITS 
  134.    SUPPLIERS DO NOT AND CANNOT WARRANT THE PERFORMANCE OR RESULTS 
  135.    YOU MAY OBTAIN BY USING THE SOFTWARE OR DOCUMENTATION. ADOBE AND 
  136.    ITS SUPPLIERS MAKE NO WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, AS TO 
  137.    NONINFRINGEMENT OF THIRD PARTY RIGHTS, MERCHANTABILITY, OR FITNESS FOR 
  138.    ANY PARTICULAR PURPOSE.  IN NO EVENT WILL ADOBE OR ITS SUPPLIERS 
  139.    BE LIABLE TO YOU FOR ANY CONSEQUENTIAL, INCIDENTAL OR SPECIAL DAMAGES, 
  140.    INCLUDING ANY LOST PROFITS OR LOST SAVINGS, EVEN IF AN ADOBE 
  141.    REPRESENTATIVE HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES, 
  142.    OR FOR ANY CLAIM BY ANY THIRD PARTY.  Some states or jurisdictions 
  143.    do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental, 
  144.    consequential or special damages, or the exclusion of implied 
  145.    warranties or limitations on how long an implied warranty may 
  146.    last, so the above limitations may not apply to you.

  148. 5. Governing Law and General Provisions. This Agreement will be 
  149.    governed by the laws of the State of California U.S.A., excluding 
  150.    the application of its conflicts of law rules.  This Agreement will 
  151.    not be governed by the United Nations Convention on Contracts for 
  152.    the International Sale of Goods, the application of which is 
  153.    expressly excluded.  If any part of this Agreement is found void 
  154.    and unenforceable, it will not affect the validity of the balance 
  155.    of the Agreement, which shall remain valid and enforceable according 
  156.    to its terms.  You agree that the Software will not be shipped, 
  157.    transferred or exported into any country or used in any manner 
  158.    prohibited by the United States Export Administration Act or any 
  159.    other export laws, restrictions or regulations.  This Agreement 
  160.    shall automatically terminate upon failure by you to comply 
  161.    with its terms.  This Agreement may only be modified in writing 
  162.    signed by an authorized officer of Adobe.

  164. 6. Notice to Government End Users. If this product is acquired under 
  165.    the terms of a:  GSA contract- Use, reproduction or disclosure 
  166.    is subject to the restrictions set forth in the applicable ADP 
  167.    Schedule contract; DoD contract- Use, duplication or disclosure 
  168.    by the Government is subject to restrictions as set forth in 
  169.    subparagraph (c) (1) (ii) of 252.227-7013; Civilian agency 
  170.    contract- Use, reproduction, or disclosure is subject to 
  171.    52.227-19 (a) through (d) and restrictions set forth in the 
  172.    accompanying end user agreement.  Unpublished-rights reserved 
  173.    under the copyright laws of the United States.
