  4. ôAnyFolderö is a shell extension, which allows you to assign any icon
  5. to any file folder in the Windows95 shell. You can customize icon 
  6. for open and close state of the each folder of your choice.

  8. Take more fun from your Windows shell and increase your productivity 
  9. with ôAnyFolderö shell extension. Assign meaningful icons to important 
  10. folders. Break rows of boring uniform folders with tailored icons. Let 
  11. your eyes relax from monotony, and so increase your productivity. Take

  47. If you wish to send order and obtain your registration information for
  48. ôAnyFolderö you may run ôRegisterö application, included in the
  49. installation set. 
  50. Make sure to follow instructions in the dialog and it does the entire
  51. job for you. Registration information will be e-mailed to you 
  52. within 1 to 4 days.
  53. To enter your registration information you have to press ôRegisterô
  54. button on ôIconö property page of any folder.

  59. To uninstall ôAnyFolderö shell extension you may run ôAdd/Remove Programsö
  60. from the Control Panel and double-click on the ôAnyFolderö

  72. 1.  To manage, extract, edit and create icons you may use some tools, which 
  73. can be found at www.download.com under category Multimedia & Design \Icons.
  74. 2.  To assign different icons to each hard drive in your system you may 
  75. create file Autorun.inf  in the root directory, containing lines:
  76.        [autorun]
  77.        ICON=iconfilename,index
  78. where iconfilename is full path to file, containing icon and index is     
  79. number of image inside this file, usually 0.
  80. 3.  Most of shell icons are located inside Windows\System\Shell32.dll file.

  82. Known problems for this version of ôAnyFolderö.

  85. 1.  You can see small icon of the folder unchanged in the left pane 
  86. of the Windows Explorer the first time you have applied customization
  87. to it. The icon will be correct next time you restart your computer.
  88. 2.  You can see plus tab in the left pane of the Windows Explorer for 
  89. folder that does not actually contain subfolders.  This is due the way 
  90. Windows shell manages extensions and will be fixed in the next version.
  91. 3.  You can see folder icon ôflashesö when the folder closes under 
  92. Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0, because its shell is not fully 
  93. compatible with Windows95/NT.
  94. 4.  ôAnyFolderö marks customized folders as read only. Windows 95
  95. requires it to recognize customization.
