  1. What can you do with this Working Model Demonstration disk
  2. ----------------------------------------------------------

  4. The goal of this demonstration disk is to introduce you to Working Model.  A limited 
  5. version of Working Model is included along with numerous demonstration files and a 
  6. hands-on tutorial.  You will be able to build models, simulate their behavior, make 
  7. simple measurements and interact with the model through the revolutionary Smart Editor.

  10. Demonstration files
  11.  
  12. There are demonstration files installed in the Working Model directory, and they are 
  13. categorized in three separate areas:   Animation (\animatio), Engineering (\engrng) 
  14. and Tutorials (\tutorial).  The Animation folder contains demonstrations of androids, 
  15. collisions and various other models for animators.  The Engineering folder contains 
  16. demonstrations of disparate mechanical systems and mechanisms, including robots, 
  17. motorcycles, typewriters and crankshafts.  The Tutorials directory contains the 
  18. solution to four tutorials (the full description of these files is contained in the 
  19. Working Model Tutorial document, which you will receive when you buy Working Model).

  24. A Microsoft Word file (tutorial.doc) containing a hands-on tutorial has been included 
  25. in the Working Model directory.  This tutorial walks you through building two simple 
  26. models, at the same time discussing numerous Working Model features.  If you don't 
  27. have access to Microsoft Word, you might try other word processor (Microsoft Write, 
  28. shipped with Windows, for example) that are able to read Word format.  In some cases 
  29. the formatting or pictures might not be retained properly if you use another word 
  30. processor.

  33. The Demonstration Version of Working Model
  34.  
  35. This demonstration disk contains a full version of Working Model with a few of its
  36. features disabled.  In particular all the import/export functionality is disabled 
  37. (Save, Save As, Print, Import, Export, Cut, Copy, Paste and Duplicate) and the 
  38. measurements and number of masses are limited (only one meter and five masses can be 
  39. created per document).

  41. Installing Working Model
  42.  
  43. To install Working Model you will need a 386- or 486-based computer running Microsoft 
  44. Windows Version 3.1, approximately six megabytes of free disk space and three 
  45. megabytes of free RAM.  Also required are: a mouse and a display compatible with 
  46. Microsoft Windows, a hard disk, a 1.44MB 3.5" disk drive and a color video driver.  
  47. A floating-point math co-processor (FPU) is recommended but not required.
  48. For good performance WE RECOMMEND a 486 with at least 8 megabytes of RAM.

  50. To install the Working Model demonstration:
  51. -  Insert disk 1 in your floppy drive (we will assume the drive name is A:)
  52. -  If you are in DOS type
  53.         A:\SETUP
  54.    or from Windows run the file called SETUP.EXE in drive A:
  55. -  Follow the instructions from the installation program.
