  41.     This CD contains the ELSA Display Driver for Microsoft Windows 95.

  92. 3.      Installation
  93.  
  94.     This section describes the steps to install an ELSA Display
  95.     Driver for Windows 95.
  96.  
  97.     To install the drivers, start the program SETUP.EXE in this
  98.     directory. The installation assistant will help you to install
  99.     the driver with the control panel.
  100.  
  101. 3.1     First installation of ELSA Display Driver
  102.  
  103.     First install Windows 95 without special drivers for the ELSA
  104.     graphics board. The installation procedure should
  105.     find a PCI VGA-compatible display adapter and ask for a
  106.     "Driver from disk provided by hardware manufacturer".
  107.     - Push the "OK"-button
  108.     - "Copy manufacturer's files from:"
  109.       CD-Drive: this directory (e.g.: E:\WINNER\2000A3D\WIN95)
  110.       The neccessary files will be copy and Windows 95 asks for
  111.       restart.
  112.     - Push the "Yes"-button
  113.  
  114.     After the restart the configuration of the ELSA display adapter
  115.     Driver starts from the Windows desktop.
  116.  
  117.     - Start the dialog "Properties for Display" by clicking right
  118.       mouse button on the desktop or per Control Panel.
  119.     - Select the Property Page "Settings" or "ELSA WINman".
  120.       - Property Page Settings:
  121.         Standard-Windows-Dialog for changing resolution, color
  122.         depth and font size.
  123.       - Property Page ELSA WINman
  124.         ELSA WINman gives you full control to configure your ELSA
  125.         display adapter perfectly. You can change resolution, color
  126.         depth and refresh rate, bild position etc.

  128.     Normally you need to boot your system. Push the button "Restart
  129.     now".
  130.  
  131.     In all following Windows sessions you can change the resolution
  132.     without rebooting your system.

  151. 5.1     ELSA.INI entries
  152.  
  153.     The working mode of the driver can manipulate by entries in the
  154.     file ELSA.INI. Normally you will need to reboot your machine to
  155.     make this settings working. In later releases ELSA will
  156.     distribute a tool change working paramters more easy.

  158.     The following table shows the meaning of this entries:

  162.     CursorFG/CursorBK
  163.     ColorCursor
  164.  
  165.         With this two entries you can change the color of the
  166.         hardware cursor. The format is:
  167.             CursorFG=0xrrggbb
  168.         at which rr, gg and bb are the hexadecimal values in
  169.         the range 00 to FF of the base color components.
  170.         You must specify ColorCursor=1 to make this working!

  173.         Set this value to 1 to force the 5-5-5 color format in
  174.         16BPP modes.

  181.         In few resolution/color combinations on some S3-based
  182.         graphic boards the hardware cursor doesn't work. In
  183.         this cases you can force the usage of a software cursor
  184.         by inserting the line
  185.             CursorType=SW
  186.         in your ELSA.INI file.

  188. 5.2.    DirectDraw/Direct3D support
  189.  
  190.     The display driver do support DirectDraw/Direct3D, but to use
  191.     it in an application, you must install DirectDraw/Direct3D.
  192.     The Microsoft DirectDraw/Direct3D components are not included
  193.     in the standard retail version of Windows 95. You need an
  194.     installation of DirectX 2.

  196.     To install DirectDraw/Direct3D start the program DXSETUP in
  197.     the directory \ELSAWARE\DDRAW\DIRECTX on the ELSA CD
