Quest for the Poorly Snail (Original Docs)
Written by Matthew Wilson
You are a knight. A knight of the square table, but
commonly just known as a sguare. Your quest is to go to
Derlin's castle and bring back the potion of healing, but
watch out, Moron Le Fay's out to get you.
Loading Instructions
The game is separated into three parts, because it is so
large the game data needs to be saved between parts. This data
is then loaded into the next part to continue with the quest.
To load the game
48k LOAD "" 'ENTER'
128 Select 48k mode, then as above.
The game
During the game commands are typed in simple English eg.
EXAMINE THE CALENDER can become EXAMINE CALENDER. The game
understands more than this though eg TIE ROPE TO BARS AND
THEN PULL THEM OFF. If you wish to talk to characters in the
game type SAY TO (BILL) "GO WEST" or whatever you wish to
say.
Examples of some useful eommands are:
SAVE saves game position to tape
LOAD loads game position frorn tape
RAMSAVE saves game data into RAM (the memory)
RAMLOAD loads game data from RAM
INVENTORY lists the objects you are carrying. This command
is often abbrievated to I.
LISTEN describes the sounds around.
SMELL describes the smells.
QUIT ends the game. Something you'll never want to do with
such an addictive game.
HELP. If you get stuck and want help. Don't try this one. If
you want an excuse to smash your computer with a hammer
then...
