REVOLUTION
Vortex 1986
CONTROLS : Keyboard, Kempston
---------------------------------------------------------------------
AIM : To reach Level 8 and beyond...
GAMEPLAY : You must solve the four puzzles on each level and return
successfully to the elevator within the time limit displayed. You will
then be transported to the next level and awarded an extra life (to a
maximum of five lives).
Within each puzzle are two grey blocks of matter. Touch one and it
becomes unstable for a short period of time. If within that time the
second block is touched, then both blocks will vapourise. There are
several ways to solve each puzzle. However, as you progress through
the stack of levels the unstable period becomes shorter. The
solutions therefore become fewer and fewer.
MAP SCREEN : The Map Screen displays the following :
1. Level of achievement.
2. Number of lives remaining.
3. Location of puzzles yet to be solved.
4. Current location.
BALL CONTROL:
1. Directional control - the direction of the ball cannot be changed
in mid-flight. It can only be altered on contact with the ground or
other objects.
2. Bounce energy - the top half of the on-screen meter indicates the
present bounce energy of the ball. This determines the height at
which the ball can bounce. The lower half of the on-screen meter
indicates the desired energy setting. This can be changed by
holding down the fire button or appropriate key until the required
energy setting is reached. Release to activate the new setting.
COMMENTS : "An unusual and good looking game that provides a real
challenge."
RATING : 91% (CRASH #33, October 1986)
NOW : Nice graphics, but incredibly tricky...
