Here are some of the things that have already been added to the game engine
for DBQuest 2.
In DBQuest 2, monsters will have the ability to use spells. I am
also improving the monster AI routines so that different monster types will
have different ways of fighting. In DBQuest 2, monsters are give special
defenses like: thick hide, immunity, resistance, incorporeal, etc.
Monsters are also given special offensive abilities like: teleporting,
flay, sever, spell casting, etc.
Ship to water monster combat has been improved.
Better graphics. I am hard at work on this right now. I have also
recruited a local artist to aid me with special pictures. DBQuest 2 will
be in 640x480x256 with no reduction in speed. DBQuest 2 also implements a
MUCH better color pallet than the one used in DBQuest 1.
Better sound. DBQuest 2 will feature a background music score.
Some of the songs that I am using are ancient ballads, and give the game
a distinct "RPG" atmosphere.
DBQuest 2 has a mouse interface, with an icon bar. DBQuest 2 also
has an improved keyboard interface.
In DBQuest 2, you will be able to tell when it is day, and when it
is night.
A huge variety of bugfixes, improvements, and rewrites have gone into making
DBQuest 2 a winner! Thanks to all those who have already sent in their
comments to me, and I look forward to hearing from those who have not yet
sent me their comments on DBQuest. If you have any comments please read the
README.TXT file. It has all the specifics on how to contact me.
