Fonts and things..
Tired of that boring old system font YET AGAIN? Boggled by the
mindbending hassle of GDOS? Just want a quick cheap way to
brighten up the old desktop?
Well here is a way that will cost you NOTHING, as with this series
of click and run .PRG files, a number of tasty, and somewhat dodgy
replacement fonts are available to brighten your desktop, and any
GEM-based applications running on it..
These run quite happily on both ST and Falcon series of computers,
and unlike many other replacement fonts, will happily work in low
resolution, and Falcon video modes as well.. (A rather important
qualifier is the total lack of anything on the Falcon interlace
hi-res modes and interlaced ST Mono, so you may like to check
these out on a 'proper' hi-res display to see what happens.. Same
goes for what happens on a Falcon VGA as well..)
I've even gone so far as to try some of these out in an 'AUTO'
folder, the C; Drive autofolder on the Falcon, which can have
Kamikaze consequences for the reckless, but no problems, just gets
on with it without a murmur.. I can't see that using these on the
ST in that way will present any problems either, but any damage,
premature hair loss caused by, etc, is not our responsibility, we
didn't create the blummin' things!
Otherwise, I'm sure someone somewhere will get on with these..
(Note, reverts back to system font with a resolution change..)
CIH..
