  7. Calendar Magic is an easy-to-use Windows (3.X or 95) based program that
  8. is entertaining, informative, educational, and of equal applicability in
  9. the home and in the office. With Calendar Magic, answering questions
  10. like the following become incredibly simple:

  12. * What day of the week was October 31, 1872? What was its Julian Date at
  13. noon on that day?
  14.  
  15. * On which day of the week was I born? On what day will my next birthday
  16. fall?
  17.  
  18. * How many days have I lived?
  19.  
  20. * What sign of the Zodiac was she born under?
  21.  
  22. * If I borrow a sum of money from April 17, 1997 to August 23, 2001, how
  23. many days is that?
  24.  
  25. * When will the 13th. of a month fall on a Friday between 1990 and
  26. 2000?

  28. * I'm planning the holiday of a lifetime around Easter in 1998. What is
  29. the date of Easter in that year?

  31. * What are the dates of the various Christian religious festivals in the
  32. year 2001?

  34. * Can I look at a month calendar for September, 1999?

  38. Each of the above questions can be answered, simply by clicking on the
  39. appropriate button and providing the date input requested.

  62. Calendar Magic is available in two versions:

  64. 1. A shareware version
  65.  
  66. 2. A registered version.

  68. The shareware version is fully functional but, over time, users will
  69. experience a longer and longer delay, on initiation, before the main
  70. screen appears. This is to enable you to try out all of Calendar Magic's
  71. capabilities before purchase, but also to encourage you to acquire a
  72. registered version should you continue to use the product after initial
  73. evaluation. The registration fee is 10 British Pounds (around $15 to $16
  74. U.S. at current March, 1996 rates). Further registration information
  75. may be found later in this file.

  78. Installing The Shareware Version of Calendar Magic
  79. --------------------------------------------------

  81. The shareware version of Calendar Magic V2.0 is provided as a single 
  82. "ZIP" file, calmag.zip. You should unzip this file, using a product 
  83. such as WinZip, and store its contents in a temporary directory, for
  84. example c:\temp.

  86. To install Calendar Magic on a Windows (3.x or 95) based system, run the
  87. program setup.exe in your temporary directory. The default installation
  88. directory is c:\calmagic but you are given the opportunity to specify
  89. another directory and/or drive.

  103. The first six files are installed in the directory you specified. The
  104. remaining three are installed in your \windows\system directory, provided
  105. that more recent versions of these files do not already exist in that
  106. directory.

  109. Calendar Magic as a Company Promotional Item

  112. Calendar Magic is a highly cost effective way of promoting any company and 
  113. maintaining contact details on clients' PCs. Would your company like 
  114. to distribute copies of Calendar Magic to its clients, showing your company
  115. name and contact details on the main Calendar Magic screen?

  117. EuroSoft is able to produce customised versions of Calendar Magic for

  119. or country specific dates and events can easily be incorporated, as can

  126. If you would like any additional days, events or dates added to Calendar 
  127. Magic, which are of significance in your country, please send the details
  128. to EuroSoft for inclusion in a future release of the product. Details
  129. required are:

  133.     2. Day/event/date of significance.

  135.     3. How is the date calculated each year? Is the event always on the
  136.        same date (e.g. January 7) or, if not, how is the date determined
  137.        each year (e.g. second Tuesday in March)?

  139. Anyone providing significant new material, which is added to Calendar Magic,
  140. will be sent a free copy of the updated product.

  143. Limitations and Restrictions
  144. ----------------------------

  146. Calendar Magic is designed to handle Gregorian calendar dates from
  147. January 1, 1753 to December 31, 9999. However, the selection of national
  148. event dates (click on the "Calendar Facts" button) is only produced for years
  149. from 1990 onwards, because of the obvious dangers of producing such
  150. information for years too far in the past.

  152. With regard to the signs of the Zodiac, different reference sources provide
  153. slightly different versions of the starting and ending dates for the
  154. periods covered by the various signs. For example, one reference source
  155. may state that the period covered by Taurus starts on April 20 and
  156. another may indicate April 21. As a result, Calendar Magic provides
  157. alternatives in these border-line situations.
