  1. How to Install 754X Win NT 4.0 Driver
  2. =====================================
  3.  
  4. 1. Make sure you have installed WinNT 4.0 OS in your HD according to MS
  5.    installation procedures.
  6. 2. Click on the Start box in the lower left corner and proceed to 
  7. Settings,
  8.    Control Panel.
  9. 3. Inside the Control Panel group, click on the Display icon to open the
  10.    Display Properties folder and select the Settings tab (right most 
  11. tab).
  12. 4. Choose the "Change Display Type..." button and click the "Change..." 
  13.    button in the Adapter Type group.
  14. 5. Select the "Have Disk..." button and then insert the 754X WIN NT 4.0 
  15.    Driver Installation diskette into the floppy drive A: or B: and 
  16. proceed 
  17.    with OK button.
  18. 6. Select "Cirrus Logic CL-GD754x vX.XX Graphics Adapter".
  19. 7. Follow screen instructions to exit Display Properties folder.
  20. 8. When prompt to restart computer, select Yes so the new driver will 
  21. take 
  22.    effect after reboot.

  25. How to activate Panning/Scrolling

  28. Case 1:
  29. -------
  30. 1. Make sure you have installed the Cirrus Logic 754X Win NT 4.0 driver 
  31. (see
  32.    How to Install 754X Win NT 4.0 Driver section above).
  33. 2. Go to Control Panel folder and click on WinNT Control panel and 
  34. switch
  35.    to different display type.
  36. 3. If the destination display type can not accommodate the high 
  37. resolution,
  38.    it will do panning/scrolling.
  39.  
  40.    Example: If you are running in 1024x768 CRT only mode and to switch
  41.             display to a 800x600 panel, your Desktop will have 1024x768
  42.         resolution but your viewport will be 800x600.

  44. Case 2:

  47. 1. Make sure you have installed the Cirrus Logic 754X Win NT 4.0 driver 
  48. (see
  49.    How to Install 754X Win NT 4.0 Driver section above).
  50. 2. Go to Display Property folder and change the resolution setting 
  51. higher
  52.    than what the panel can accommodate, panning/scrolling will be 
  53. enabled.

  55.    Example: If you are running 800x600 resolution in a 800x600 panel in 
  56. LCD
  57.             only or SimulSCAN mode, changing to 1024x768 will enable 
  58.         panning/scrolling.  Your deskotp then will have 1024x768
  59.         resolution but your viewport will be 800x600.

  61. Case 3:

  64. 1. Panning/scrolling will be enabled if the resolution is higher than 
  65. what
  66.    the panel can accommodate before the machine is reboot.

  68.    Example: If you are running in 1024x768 CRT only mode and you have a 
  69.             800x600 panel as your primary screen, reboot machine without
  70.         CRT connected. Panning will be enabled and your Desktop will 
  71.         have 1024x768 resolution but your viewport will be 800x600.

  74. How to change colordepth
  75. ========================

  77. 1. Make sure you have installed the Cirrus Logic 754X Win NT 4.0 driver 
  78. (see
  79.    How to Install 754X Win NT 4.0 Driver section above).
  80. 2. Click on the Start box in the lower left corner and proceed to 
  81. Settings,
  82.    Control Panel.
  83. 3. Inside the Control Panel group, click on the Display icon to open the
  84.    Display Properties folder and select the Settings tab.
  85. 4. Click on the pull-down arrow from the Color palette area to select 
  86. color
  87.    depth.
  88. 5. Choose OK to restart Win NT 4.0.

  90. How to change resolution

  93. 1. Make sure you have installed the Cirrus Logic 754X Win NT 4.0 driver

  95.    How to Install 754X Win NT 4.0 Driver section above).
  96. 2. Click on the Start box in the lower left corner and proceed to 
  97. Settings,
  98.    Control Panel.
  99. 3. Inside the Control Panel group, click on the Display icon to open the
  100.    Display Properties folder and select the Settings tab.
  101. 4. Ajust the sliding bar either to Less or More from the Desktop area.
  102. 5. Choose OK and new resolution will take effect.
