How to Install 754X Win NT 4.0 Driver
=====================================
1. Make sure you have installed WinNT 4.0 OS in your HD according to MS
installation procedures.
2. Click on the Start box in the lower left corner and proceed to
Settings,
Control Panel.
3. Inside the Control Panel group, click on the Display icon to open the
Display Properties folder and select the Settings tab (right most
tab).
4. Choose the "Change Display Type..." button and click the "Change..."
button in the Adapter Type group.
5. Select the "Have Disk..." button and then insert the 754X WIN NT 4.0
Driver Installation diskette into the floppy drive A: or B: and
proceed
with OK button.
6. Select "Cirrus Logic CL-GD754x vX.XX Graphics Adapter".
7. Follow screen instructions to exit Display Properties folder.
8. When prompt to restart computer, select Yes so the new driver will
take
effect after reboot.
How to activate Panning/Scrolling
==================================
Case 1:
-------
1. Make sure you have installed the Cirrus Logic 754X Win NT 4.0 driver
(see
How to Install 754X Win NT 4.0 Driver section above).
2. Go to Control Panel folder and click on WinNT Control panel and
switch
to different display type.
3. If the destination display type can not accommodate the high
resolution,
it will do panning/scrolling.
Example: If you are running in 1024x768 CRT only mode and to switch
display to a 800x600 panel, your Desktop will have 1024x768
resolution but your viewport will be 800x600.
Case 2:
-------
1. Make sure you have installed the Cirrus Logic 754X Win NT 4.0 driver
(see
How to Install 754X Win NT 4.0 Driver section above).
2. Go to Display Property folder and change the resolution setting
higher
than what the panel can accommodate, panning/scrolling will be
enabled.
Example: If you are running 800x600 resolution in a 800x600 panel in
LCD
only or SimulSCAN mode, changing to 1024x768 will enable
panning/scrolling. Your deskotp then will have 1024x768
resolution but your viewport will be 800x600.
Case 3:
-------
1. Panning/scrolling will be enabled if the resolution is higher than
what
the panel can accommodate before the machine is reboot.
Example: If you are running in 1024x768 CRT only mode and you have a
800x600 panel as your primary screen, reboot machine without
CRT connected. Panning will be enabled and your Desktop will
have 1024x768 resolution but your viewport will be 800x600.
How to change colordepth
========================
1. Make sure you have installed the Cirrus Logic 754X Win NT 4.0 driver
(see
How to Install 754X Win NT 4.0 Driver section above).
2. Click on the Start box in the lower left corner and proceed to
Settings,
Control Panel.
3. Inside the Control Panel group, click on the Display icon to open the
Display Properties folder and select the Settings tab.
4. Click on the pull-down arrow from the Color palette area to select
color
depth.
5. Choose OK to restart Win NT 4.0.
How to change resolution
========================
1. Make sure you have installed the Cirrus Logic 754X Win NT 4.0 driver
(see
How to Install 754X Win NT 4.0 Driver section above).
2. Click on the Start box in the lower left corner and proceed to
Settings,
Control Panel.
3. Inside the Control Panel group, click on the Display icon to open the
Display Properties folder and select the Settings tab.
4. Ajust the sliding bar either to Less or More from the Desktop area.
5. Choose OK and new resolution will take effect.
