Readme file for Graphics Blaster 3D/MA334
-----------------------------------------
This is the read me file for the Graphics Blaster 3D Windows 95 driver
update disk, containing information on how to replace the Graphics
Blaster 3D drivers currently in use on your system with the latest
version (v1.12).
This file contains the following sections:
1. How to install the latest set of Graphics Blaster 3D drivers
2. What are the enhancements in this version of the drivers?
1. How to install the latest set of Graphics Blaster 3D drivers
------------------------------------------------------------
To install the new Graphics Blaster 3D drivers, follow the steps
listed below:
1. Create a new directory on your hard-disk (eg, C:\NEWDRV)
2. Copy the new set of driver files to this directory
3. Click on the Windows 95 Start button, select Settings,
and click on Control Panel
4. Double-click on the Display applet. This will launch the
'Display Properties' page
5. Click on the 'Settings' tab
6. Click on the 'Change Display Type' button. This brings up
the 'Change Display Type' dialog
7. You should see the entry 'Graphics Blaster 3D' in the 'Adapter
Type' field. Click on the 'Change' button next to 'Graphics
Blaster 3D'(this will bring up the 'Select Device' page)
8. Click on the 'Have Disk' button
9. At the dialog box, type in the directory path to where the new
drivers are found (eg, C:\NEWDRV) and click OK.
10. A new 'Select Device' page will appear. Make sure 'Graphics
Blaster 3D' is highlighted and click on 'OK'
11. The new drivers will now be copied to your system.
12. The screen will now return to the 'Change Display Type' dialog.
Click on the 'Close' button (this will return you to the
'Display Properties' page)
13. Click on the 'Close' button.
14. When prompted to restart the system, click on 'Yes'. After your
PC restarts, the new drivers will take effect.
Note: The instructions above may vary depending on which version of
Windows 95 is installed in your system. If you have purchased your
PC with Windows 95 pre-installed, you may be using a newer
version of Windows 95 (called 'OSR2').
To find out if you have the 'OSR2' version of Windows 95, follow
these steps:
(a) Right-click on the 'My Computer' icon in the Windows 95 desktop
(b) Select 'Properties' (this brings up the 'System Properties' page)
(c) Click on the 'General' tab
(d) Look at the entry for 'System'. If it states:
Microsoft Windows 95
4.00.950 B
then you have the 'OSR2' version of Windows 95. Older versions
of Windows 95 will just have '4.00.950' or '4.00.950a'
To install the new set of Graphics Blaster 3D drivers on your
system if you are using the 'OSR2' version of Windows 95, follow
the steps below.
1. Create a new directory on your hard-disk (eg, C:\NEWDRV)
2. Copy the new set of drivers to this directory
3. Click on the Windows 95 Start button, select Settings, and click
on Control Panel
4. Double-click on the Display applet. This will launch the 'Display
Properties' page
5. Click on the 'Settings' tab
6. Click on the 'Advanced Properties' button. This brings up the
'Advanced Display Properties' dialog
7. You should see the entry 'Graphics Blaster 3D' in the 'Adapter
Type' field. Click on the 'Change' button next to 'Graphics
Blaster 3D' (this will bring up the 'Select Device' page).
8. Click on the 'Have Disk' button
9. At the dialog box, type in the directory path to where the new
drivers are found (eg, C:\NEWDRV) and click OK.
10. A new 'Select Device' page will appear. Make sure 'Graphics
Blaster 3D' is highlighted and click on 'OK'
11. The new drivers will now be copied to your system.
12. The screen will now return to the 'Advanced Display Properties'
dialog. Click on the 'Close' button (this will return you to the
'Display Properties' page)
13. Click on the 'Close' button.
