  5.       1. Uninstall SiS IDE DOS driver if you want to install SiS IDE Novell
  6.          Netware driver.

  8.       2. Uninstall SiS IDE DOS driver if you want to install SiS IDE Windows 95
  9.          driver.

  11.       3. To install SiS IDE Windows 95 driver, read readme.doc in WIN95 <DIR>
  12.          or run install.exe to see the according item.

  14.       4. To install SiS IDE Windows NT driver, read readme.doc in WINNT <DIR>
  15.          or run install.exe to see the according item.

  17.       5. To install SiS IDE SCO-UNIX driver, read readme.sco in SCO <DIR>

  31.       7. Run install.exe to install SiS IDE DOS, Windows, Windows for Workgroup

  34.       8. About SiS IDE DOS Driver ...

  36.          To set wait state manually, notice that :

  38.          8.1 If you want to adjust speeds for DOS driver
  39.              using sisdr.sys /Axxxx /Rxxxx form.
  40.              /A3456 means active time for channel 0 master is 3*30ns
  41.                                           channel 0 slave  is 4*30ns
  42.                                           channel 1 master is 5*30ns
  43.                                           channel 1 slave  is 6*30ns

  45.              /R6543 means recovery time for channel 0 master is 6*30ns
  46.                                             channel 0 slave  is 5*30ns
  47.                                             channel 1 master is 4*30ns
  48.                                             channel 1 slave  is 3*30ns
  49.          8.2 Default value is set by using HD internal info. automatically.

  59.       9. About SiS IDE Novell Netware driver :

  61.          9.1 By default, the driver run in Master mode.
  62.  
  63.          9.2 By editing c:\server\startup.ncf file, you can force the default
  64.              master mode into slave mode by using /d0, and /d1 command.
  65.              For example:
  66.              load siside.dsk /d0 int=E port=1f0  ===> Force Channel 0
  67.                                                       into slave mode.
  68.              load siside.dsk /d1 int=F port=170  ===> Force channel 1

  74. 1.      Novell Netware Server will hang when client is trying to loggin.
  75. Ans:    Please remember to use Un-Install function to remove SiS IDE DOS Driver
  76.         after SiS IDE Netware Driver installed.

  78. 2       How to use 32-bit file access for Hard Disk and CD-ROM working at the
  79.         same channel in WFW 3.11 environment ?
  80. Ans:    It is a limitation of the system. You should either put the devices in
  81.         different channel or turn the 32-bit file access off.

  83. 3.      DOS Driver adjusts HD speed by parameter :
  84. E.g:    You can write the following line in config.sys
  85.                 device=c:\siside\sisdr.sys /Rxxxx /Axxxx
  86.         Where x could be 0 .. 9, A .. F for speed .
  87.                 R : Recovery time
  88.                 A : Active time    ( ref. data sheet for 551X )

  90. 4.      After SiS IDE DOS driver installed. Some mode 4 hard disk will cause
  91.         system hang at the IDE driver loading procedure when we reboot the
  92.         system.
  93. Ans:    Users can avoid this by downing the speed in Manual function as Q&A 3.

  95. 5.      Why NT3.5 can't boot completely after installed IDE driver and reboot ?
  96. Ans:    Windows NT and SiS IDE Drivers can't both be active under NT system.
  97.         User just need to follow the README procedure to remove Windows NT IDE
  98.         Driver after SiS IDE Driver installed.
