  48.         This disk contains the ELSA Display Driver for
  49.         Microsoft Windows 95 and Windows 98.
  50.  
  51.         The drivers support 256, 32768 and 16 Million colors in all
  52.         resolutions available on used ELSA graphics board.
  53.         Microsoft DirectX is supported by an integrated
  54.         DirectDraw/Direct3D HAL.

  72.         In case of trouble during or after installation, please
  73.         make sure you have all the files mentioned above!

  78. 3.      Installation
  79.  
  80. 3.1     Installing ELSA graphics board for Windows 95
  81.  
  82.         Remove your "old" VGA adapter and put the ELSA graphics
  83.         board into your computer.
  84.         On startup Windows 95 will detect three devices. The first
  85.         one is a "CO Prozessor CPU". Windows prompts for a manufacturer
  86.         disk. Plaese browse through the ELSA CD and select the
  87.         display driver subdirectory matching to your graphics
  88.         adapter(eg.GLORIA\XXL\WIN9x) Windows installs the device.
  89.         Thereafter Windows detects the second device. You have to
  90.         do the same steps again. Now Windows have to be rebooted.
  91.         During the next restart Windows detects the third device.
  92.         Follow the steps descibed above. Windows prompt you to
  93.         reboot the computer. After restarting, Windows is running
  94.         with the ELSA display drivers active. The installation
  95.         routine will additionally create the ELSA Settings property
  96.         page.

  149. 5.      Known Bugs and Operating Notes
  150.  
  151.         This section documents known anomalies or problems and gives
  152.         hints on work arounds.

  156. 5.1.1   Changing color depth with QuickRes
  157.  
  158.         If QuickRes changes the color depth without restarting Windows,
  159.         sometime you can see drawing errors. QuickRes patches (!) the
  160.         display driver, so the driver can no longer work properly.
  161.  
  162. 5.1.2   Display errors with DirectX
  163.  
  164.         Applications using DirectX could cause display errors when
  165.         DirectX version I or II is installed. Please install DirectX
  166.         version 5 to solve this problems. You will find this version
  167.         of DirectX on the WINNERware CD in the directory
  168.         MSAPPS\DIRECTX5.
