  10.      INSTALLING AND SELECTING A PRINTER DRIVER
  11.  
  12.      Use the following steps to install and select your HP LaserJet 5L
  13.      printer driver for Lotus 1-2-3 release 2.3/2.4:

  15.      1.   Copy the printer driver files using the SETUP program.
  16.  
  17.      2.   At a DOS prompt on the drive where Lotus 1-2-3 is loaded, type
  18.           CD\ followed by the name of the subdirectory where Lotus 1-2-3 
  19.           is loaded (for example, CD\123r23) to change to the Lotus 1-2-3 
  20.           subdirectory, then press [Enter].

  22.           At the DOS prompt, type LOTUS and press [Enter] to bring up
  23.           the "Lotus 1-2-3 Access Menu."
  24.  
  25.           Use your cursor keys to highlight INSTALL on the "Lotus 1-2-3
  26.           Access Menu," then press [Enter] to run the INSTALL program.

  28.      3.   Read the instructions on the LOTUS INSTALL PROGRAM screen,
  29.           then press [Enter].

  31.      4.   Select CHANGE SELECTED EQUIPMENT on the MAIN MENU, then press
  32.           [Enter].

  34.      5.   Select ADD NEW DRIVERS TO THE LIBRARY on the CHANGE SELECTED
  35.           EQUIPMENT menu, then press [Enter].
  36.  
  37.      6.   Specify the drive containing the update disk (A or B), then
  38.           press [Enter].
  39.  
  40.      7.   Select MODIFY THE CURRENT DRIVER SET on the CHANGE SELECTED
  41.           EQUIPMENT menu, then press [Enter].

  43.      8.   Select GRAPHICS PRINTER on the MODIFY CURRENT DRIVER SET menu,
  44.           then press [Enter].

  46.      9.   Select HP on the GRAPHICS PRINTER SELECTION menu, then press
  47.           [Enter].

  49.      10.  Select LASERJET 4 SERIES PCL 5" then press [Enter].  (The drivers
  50.           are not necessarily listed in alphabetical order.)  You will
  51.           return to the MODIFY CURRENT DRIVER SET menu.

  53.      11.  Select RETURN TO PREVIOUS MENU on the MODIFY CURRENT DRIVER
  54.           SET menu, then press [Enter].

  56.      12.  Select SAVE THE CURRENT DRIVER SET on the CHANGE SELECTED
  57.           EQUIPMENT menu, then press [Enter].

  63.      13.  Read the instructions on the SAVING YOUR CHANGES screen, then
  64.           press [Enter].

  66.      14.  Read the instructions on the GENERATING FONTS screen, then
  67.           press [Enter].

  69.      15.  Select the set of font sizes you want to use with WYSIWYG on
  70.           the GENERATING FONTS menu.  Choose "Basic," "Medium," or
  71.           "Extended" depending on the font sizes you need and the amount
  72.           of disk space you have available.  The box on the GENERATING
  73.           FONTS menu gives information about disk space requirements.

  76.      NOTE   "Basic" gives a maximum font point size of 24, "Medium" a
  77.             maximum font point size of 36, and "Extended" a maximum font
  78.             point size of 72.  The larger the set of fonts, the more
  79.             disk space will be required.

  82.      16.  After you select the font set, press [Enter], and a GENERATING
  83.           FONTS screen will display while fonts are being made.  When
  84.           font generation is complete, press any key to end Install.

  87.      NOTE   You have just installed a WYSIWYG printer driver.  To use
  88.             this driver, you need to enable WYSIWYG within Lotus 1-2-3.
  89.             (See the next section "Enabling WYSIWYG" for instructions.)

  91.             Install the HP LaserJet series text printer driver if you
  92.             plan to use setup strings or print multiple ranges on a
  93.             page; and install the LaserJet III, IIID, and IIIP graphics
  94.             printer driver if you plan to use the Lotus 1-2-3 PrintGraph
  95.             feature.  See your Lotus 1-2-3 release 2.3/2.4 user's
  96.             documentation for information about how to install these
  97.             drivers.

  100.      ENABLING WYSIWYG
  101.  
  102.      To use WYSIWYG, you must load it into memory.  WYSIWYG can be added
  103.      automatically upon entering Lotus 1-2-3 or invoked during the
  104.      current Lotus 1-2-3 session.  The following instructions apply to
  105.      adding WYSIWYG during a Lotus 1-2-3 session.  Check the Lotus 1-2-3
  106.      documentation for instructions about loading WYSIWYG automatically.

  108.      1.   Start Lotus 1-2-3.
  109.  
  110.      2.   To enable WYSIWYG, hold down the [Alt] key on your computer's
  111.           keyboard, then press the [F10] key.

  113.      3.   Select [A]ttach.

  115.      4.   Highlight WYSIWYG.ADN, then press [Enter].

  123.      5.   Select "No Key" if you plan to use [:] (colon) or use a mouse
  124.           to display the WYSIWYG main menu.  This WYSIWYG function may
  125.           also be assigned to [Alt-F7], [Alt-F8], [Alt-F9] or [Alt-F10].
  126.           After making your selection, the WYSIWYG add-in program will
  127.           load into memory.  Press [Q]uit to return to the Lotus 1-2-3
  128.           spreadsheet screen.

  131.      NOTE   Press [:] (colon) or press the alternate key you chose
  132.             during the add-in process to activate the WYSIWYG menu.  To
  133.             use Lotus 1-2-3 menus and functions, use the [/] key.

  136.      SELECTING A PRINTER
  137.  
  138.      To choose a printer, press [:] [P]rint [C]onfig [P]rinter.  Select
  139.      the HP LaserJet printer you installed, press [Enter], then
  140.      press [Q]uit twice to return to your spreadsheet.

  144.      If you are a network administrator and need to update the printer
  145.      driver for the Lotus 1-2-3 for DOS Release 2.3/2.4 Network Edition,
  146.      you will need the Lotus 2.3/2.4 Network Edition update disk.  This
  147.      disk is available electronically from the HP Peripherals Forum on
  148.      CompuServe, from Hewlett-Packard Distribution at (303) 353-7650, or
  149.      from Lotus Development Corporation.
