Bart's Excelent Deathmatch Patch Wad

This DOOM patch wad makes 4 changes to E1M1 designed to enhance
multi-player DEATHMATCH games: 1) adds chainsaw upstairs. 2) adds plasma gun
to second room. 3) allows you to walk between windows from room 1 to missle
patio. 4) extends secret shotgun room and connects it to the chaingun room.
Run this PWAD by typing "DOOM -file bart.wad". This PWAD was created using
NEWDEU 4.3 and by manually hex-editing the BLOCKMAP resource (not easy). It
was tested using the registered 1.1 version of DOOM. The addition of the
plasma gun makes this PWAD unusable with the shareware versions of DOOM.
The secret walls may be hard to find. Use the automap to find the
walls I knocked out. They will appear to be normal but you will be able to
walk thur, fire thru, and hide within them. The first one is between the two
windows in the first room. The second one is between the secret shotgun room
and the chaingun room. The shotgun room was extended southward to make a
hallway.
Since no line vertexes were changed, updating the NODES structure
was not necessary. The only hard part was modifying the BLOCKMAP resource for
proper collision detection. This modification is not currently being
performed correctly by NEWDUE 4.3. I had to do it manually by using a hex
editor on bart.wad. The DOOM specs were very helpful in directing me to the
right BLOCKMAP definition. I was able to easily tell blocks 238 & 239 to
point to the same lines defined in block 272.
