  1. Use the following instructions to install Stars! demo using Microsoft 
  2. Windows 3.1, 3.11, 95 or NT.
  3.  
  4.    1. Create a Stars! directory on your hard drive.
  5.    2. Copy the files Demoexe.zip and Demohlp.zipto the Stars! directory.
  6.    3. Unzip the files with PKUNZIP or one of the many file 
  7.       compression/decompression utilities such as WinZip.
  8.  
  9. The installation is complete. The File Manager should now show the 
  10. following files in the Stars! directory:
  11.  
  12.    Stars!.exe  -- Stars! program
  13.    Stars!.hlp  -- Stars! online help
  14.    * For the help buttons and menu item within the game to activate 
  15.      the online help, Stars!.exe and Stars!.hlp must be in the same 
  16.      directory.
  17.    Readme.txt  -- General game and distributor info
  18.  
  19. Run Stars!.exe to start the game.
  20.  
  21. If you are unable to successfully install the demo, please send email

  25. Adding the Stars! icon to a Program Manager group:
  26.  
  27. To add the Stars! icon to the a Program Manager group, do the 
  28. following:
  29.  
  30. 1) Open the File Manager and re-size it so you can still see the 
  31.    program group in which you want to place the Stars! icon. To 
  32.    re-size the File Manager, just drag it's borders.
  33.  
  34. 2) Click on the Stars! directory to display it's contents. 
  35.  
  36. 3) Click and hold on the file Stars!.exe. Drag the file over to the 
  37.    Program Group and release. The Stars! icon will now appear in the 
  38.    group.

  55. Uninstalling the Stars! Demo
  56.  
  57. To uninstall the Stars! demo, simply delete the Stars! directory and 
  58. all its files and the Stars.ini file from the Windows directory.
  59.  
  60. Note: The game will end after 80 turns when you play the Stars! demo. If you wish to play a full game you must order the boxed version.
