  14. INTRODUCTION
  15.  
  16.     vbcc is a free portable and retargetable ANSI C compiler.
  17.  
  18.     This archive contains several executables from the vbcc-distribution
  19.     compiled for PPC, and config-files which make vc use the PPC-executables.
  20.  
  21.     This probably makes vbcc the first compiler running on PowerUp!
  22.  
  23.     Only the compilers and the PPC-assembler are provided because most
  24.     other programs would not benefit from the PPC or are not available as
  25.     C-source,

  27.     You need the archive vbcc.lha, too.

  29.     Keep in mind that these are beta-versions and not tuned for speed.

  32. INSTALLATION
  33.  
  34.     First install vbcc (see the docs in vbcc.lha) and then extract this
  35.     archive over your vbcc installation.
  36.  
  37.     The new executables will be called:
  38.  
  39.         vbcc/bin/vbccm68k_ppc
  40.         vbcc/bin/vbccppc_ppc
  41.         vbcc/machines/amigappc/bin/pasm_ppc
  42.  
  43.     and the config-files in vbcc: will be overwritten by versions
  44.     invoking the PPC-executables.
  45.  
  46.     The 68k-executables are still there, so if you make backups of the
  47.     old config-files before installing this archive you can switch between
  48.     both versions using vc's +-option.
