  8. ShapeShifter is a multitasking shareware Macintosh-II emulator for
  9. the Amiga and DraCo computers. It allows to run Macintosh software
  10. concurrently to Amiga applications without hardware add-ons or
  11. modifications.

  13. Some of the emulation's features:
  14.  
  15.  - Color display up to 256 colors on AGA Amigas (16 colors on ECS)
  16.    and up to 16.7 million colors on graphics cards
  17.  - Accelerated graphics with CyberGraphX
  18.  - Support for one or two monitors
  19.  - No MMU required, even runs on A1200
  20.  - Macintosh hard disks can be simulated in Amiga files or Amiga
  21.    hard disk partitions
  22.    [unregistered version has no hard disk partition support]
  23.  - Can use Amiga floppy drives, serial, parallel and SCSI ports
  24.    from the Mac
  25.    [use of SCSI not possible in unregistered version]
  26.  - Mac HD disks can be read directly with an HD floppy drive,
  27.    Mac 720K disks can be used with any Amiga floppy drive. To use
  28.    Mac 800K disks, you have to own CrossMAC and an original Mac drive.

  38. Requirements:

  40. OS2.1, 68020 processor, 4MB of RAM, HD floppy drive recommended.
  41. A copy of a Macintosh 512K or 1MB ROM and the Macintosh system
  42. software are not included, but required. The ROM can be read off
  43. of a real Mac by using a supplied program, the system software
  44. can be bought from Apple. Note, however, that reading the ROM is
  45. only legal if you have bought the ROMs or own a real Macintosh.

  47. The most important changes in V3.7:
  48.  
  49.  - ShapeShifter supports the Catweasel Floppy Controller for
  50.    reading/writing Mac HD floppy disks.
  51.  - Fixed the audio bugs of version 3.6.

  53. NOTE: You MUST re-set your Floppy preferences in ShapeShifter if
  54. you have used a previous version of ShapeShifter. V3.6 and V3.7
  55. "ShapeShifter Prefs" files are NOT compatible.
