  26. VERY IMPORTANT:
  27.  
  28. Digital Almanac was using the public MUI-class Xpk.mcc from V39.9 to V39.13.
  29. I was forced to remove this class by several reasons.
  30.  
  31. 1. It was not a registered MUI-class.
  32. 2. The Installer was unable to detect the version ID, so Xpk.mcc was not copied
  33.    to MUI's classes !!
  34. 3. The consequence was, that DA did not start, when Xpk.mcc was missing !
  35.  
  36. THIS VERSION SHOULD FIX ALL THE PROBLEMS YOU HAD WITH V39.9 to V39.13 !!

  40. IMPORTANT:

  42. Digital Almanac V39.14 requires the unpacked data archive of "DAlmanac_Data.lha"
  43. V39.6 or V39.7 !!
  44. This exe-archive contains an extra installer script for installing the data archive.

  46. For complete installation, follow these steps:
  47. * Download both archives.
  48. * Unpack the exe archive.
  49. * Start the exe installer.
  50. * Start the data installer.

  53. A French catalog is available, but not a French documentation,
  54. because I don't speak French :-)

  59. Digital Almanac is one of the best programs for hobby astronomers (and professionals ?)
  60. available for the Amiga !

  64. * Complete SAO star catalog (258998 stars) and additional 130000 stars from the PPM catalog.
  65. * About 40000 deep-sky objects (Messier, NGC, IC, UGC, Abell, Zwicky and other misc objects).
  66. * About 36000 minor planets and asteroids as well as the comets Halley, Hyakutake, Hale-Bopp
  67.   and others.
  68. * Highly accurate calculation of Moon and planets with JPL's integration tables (DE404).
  69.   (Accuracy partly <0.1'' over a period of some thousand years !!).
  70. * Textures for five planets.
  71. * Moons of Jupiter and Saturn.
  72. * Milky way structure.
  73. * View the sky from any solar system object.
  74. * Animation mode (also saving in IFF-ANIM format !!).
  75. * Loading and saving of configuration files.
  76. * Highly optimized algorithms for maximum speed, mostly written in assembler.
  77. * Lots of configuration possibilities.
  78. * Online and menu help with HELP-key and MUI's bubblehelp.
  79. * Export of ephemeris tables (printer or file).
  80. * CyberGfx High- and Truecolor mode support.
  81. * Picture galery creation.
  82. * User editable database of orbital elements (asteroids or comets).
  83. * Recognizes CPU for maximum speed.

  91. Following features are restricted for non registered users:

  93. * Deep-sky catalog access limited to the Messier catalog.
  94. * All saving functions are disabled.
  95. * No hardcopy.
  96. * No changing site to a different planet, only Earth enabled.
  97. * No detailed course of eclipses.
  98. * No picture galery.
  99. * Plotting stars only to 6m.
  100. * Plotting other objects only to 10m.
  101. * No changing of pixelsize.
  102. * No events in the calendar.
  103. * The program will terminate after 20 min and all 5 min a requester will appear.

  114.    * UGC catalog recompiled. All invalid entries should now be fixed.
  115.    * The rgfx.datatype had to be removed from the archive.
  116.    * Updated guide.
  117.    * Removed usage of public Xpk.mcc and made it a private class.
  118.      It caused too many problems and the installer also was unable to detect
  119.      version id. This caused a heavy failure during startup of DA.
  120.    * There were no error messages during startup with problems. This has been fixed.
