Hello!
Welcome to Bad Link readme file. It is not really the doc, but only some
words about the program. Sorry, I have no time (at this moment) to
translate whole documentation. Let me write only a few words about the
program.
Copyrights
This software is subject to the "Standard Amiga FD-Software Copyright
Note". It is Freeware as defined in paragraph 4a. For more information
please read "AFD-COPYRIGHT" (Version 1 or higher).
Description
Program searches for BAD LINKS (file keys in headers) on any partition.
What is it for? To let You make your hard drive valid. If you have some
problems with validation (eg. "Block nnn out of range"), and all salvage
programs didn't help you, try this! Just type the block number, which is
on the requester (on my HD it was 1) and wait some minutes. Now, run the
QuarterbackTools (or other disk-edit program, but QB is very good for that
sobject), jump to the blocks, that were found by the BadLink and change
all bad links to zeros (00000000). If You know what you're doing, can set
"Block count" and "First file key" to proper value. Now validator should
do all the work properly. Please note, that only peaple who has a
practice, should do this work. Wrong use of QBTools can give you more
problems! Also wait for the new version of BadLink, witch will make all
the work automaticly, without user help.
Final note
Please send me some messages about this program, and notes about bugs, or
things that program should do better. You will help me very much! Also
look for the new version of BadLink with full documentation in English.
