<p> RETIRING. John Lawn, 54, as administrator of the federal
Drug Enforcement Administration; in Washington. During five
years as the nation's top narc, the aggressive Lawn pressured
Mexico to investigate the 1985 murder of DEA agent Enrique
"Kiki" Camarena Salazar, which the U.S. claims was sanctioned
by high-level law-enforcement officials. Lawn will become a vice
president of the New York Yankees, handling all operations
except those concerning players.
