  17. <p>    Conspiracy, Central America and the CIA are serious
  18. subjects, but former First Daughter Patti Davis isn't afraid to
  19. tackle them -- fictitiously. She even "played around," says
  20. Patti, "with ways I could sneak into Nicaragua" for research.
  21. But "it would have been naive, because it was known that I
  22. disagreed with my father's policy." Instead, Davis stayed home
  23. in California to write her new novel, Deadfall. And what do
  24. Ronald and Nancy Reagan think of a book that's hard on the U.S.
  25. Government? Davis isn't sure they've read it, and doubts that
  26. they'll be sending copies as Christmas presents.
