<p> RESIGNING. Henry Anatole Grunwald, 66, former editor in
chief of Time Inc.; after two years as U.S. Ambassador to
Austria. A native of Vienna who fled the Nazi take over in 1938,
Grunwald strengthened ties with friendly Austria while keeping
President Kurt Waldheim at arm's length. The
journalist-turned-envoy, wrote Vienna's daily Standard, will be
missed "as the son whom we drove out and to whom we owe so
much."
