  17. <p>     What was FAYE DUNAWAY doing sitting in class at the
  18. University of Michigan law school? Research. Dunaway is
  19. interested in portraying law professor CATHARINE MACKINNON in
  20. a movie about sexual harassment. MacKinnon pioneered the legal
  21. concept long before Anita Hill's testimony galvanized the
  22. national debate on the subject. The professor is ambivalent
  23. about submitting to Hollywood treatment. Says she: "It centers
  24. on me as a person, rather than on the women whom the work is
  25. about." But, she adds, "women in Hollywood are looking for roles
  26. that show women doing things that women want done." Meanwhile,
  27. MacKinnon has been lecturing to standing-room-only crowds,
  28. thanks in part to the hopeful writers and producers in the
  29. audience.
