- <p> What was FAYE DUNAWAY doing sitting in class at the
- University of Michigan law school? Research. Dunaway is
- interested in portraying law professor CATHARINE MACKINNON in
- a movie about sexual harassment. MacKinnon pioneered the legal
- concept long before Anita Hill's testimony galvanized the
- national debate on the subject. The professor is ambivalent
- about submitting to Hollywood treatment. Says she: "It centers
- on me as a person, rather than on the women whom the work is
- about." But, she adds, "women in Hollywood are looking for roles
- that show women doing things that women want done." Meanwhile,
- MacKinnon has been lecturing to standing-room-only crowds,
- thanks in part to the hopeful writers and producers in the
- audience.
