  18. <p>     Edu-tainment. That's how actor-director MARIO VAN PEEBLES describes
  19. his next film. In fact, Posse, a saga chronicling the adventures
  20. of gun-blazing black cowboys on the frontier, aims to serve
  21. as part history lesson, part high-impact action flick. Van Peebles
  22. feels that most Americans don't realize how widely blacks participated
  23. in Western expansion. After New Jack City, Mario hoped to make
  24. a movie that would be empowering. He tried to sell studios on
  25. a story about a middle-class black family. "They liked it but
  26. told me to put someone on crack," he says. So he came up with
  27. Posse. "You can sell it as a shoot-'em western, but people will
  28. come see it and grow."
