  18. <p>     He may leave his heart in San Francisco, but his jersey
  19. will be in Missouri. JOE MONTANA, the National Football
  20. League's best-known quarterback, is saying goodbye to the San
  21. Francisco 49ers and heading east to the Kansas City Chiefs. In
  22. a sentimental farewell to the team he led to four Super Bowl
  23. titles, Montana reflected, "If I hadn't had 14 great years here,
  24. if we had no real past to look back on, things might be a little
  25. different." Montana, who has suffered serious injury to his
  26. elbow, hasn't been a presence on the 49ers for two seasons.
