  4. WHAT ARE MANGA BABES?
  5. ----------------------
  6. If you do 3D graphics and need some shapely female 3D models, chances are you
  7. will have to decide between laboriously constructing your own objects, buying
  8. commercial models for $80-180, laser-scanning human beings at $250 an hour, or
  9. buying an optical 3D scanner at $40K-80K (not to mention hiring a correctly 
  10. proportioned human model). If this is the case, Manga Babes is for you.

  12. Manga Babes are 3D computer models of well-endowed female humans, styled in 
  13. the manner of Japanese anime and manga (animation and comics).
  14.  
  15. The first edition of the Manga Babes collection is shareware. In the registered
  16. package you get up to 3 exquisitely designed 3D models of a shapely female form 
  17. sculpted in the style of Japanese anime and manga. The models are created on 
  18. Amiga systems and are available in Impulse Imagine TDDD (for Amiga) and 
  19. Autodesk 3D Studio 3DS (for PC) formats.

  21. As can be seen from the accompanying JPEG images, Manga Babes are absolutely 
  22. stunning to behold :) They can be quickly rendered off the box for beautiful
  23. Windows backdrops; used to enhance your architectural walkthrough scenes or to 
  24. grab attention to your ray-traced company logo; help you visualize swimsuit 
  25. designs; or animated for use in video productions or 3D Virtual Reality games. 
  26. Manipulate and view them from any camera angle. The possibilities are endless!

  28. Since Manga Babes is shareware, you get not one but two demo babes in this 
  29. package completely FREE! The demo versions are seriously lacking in flexibility
  30. and some prominent bodyparts. Of course you can proceed to create the missing 
  31. parts yourself, OR...

  33. ... you can register for a ridiculously low price and get lots of other extras!

  36. ARE THEY WORTH IT?
  37. ------------------
  38. Commercial 3D models can cost between US$80-$500. Even though Manga Babes do
  39. not approach the level of realism offered by professionals, the quality is 
  40. comparable with or surpasses that of models used in the recent commercial VR 
  41. computer games. They are a steal at the remarkably low price range of US$25-45
  42. per package! You'll get over 3 MB of object data alone in package B!

  44. Plus, you get all the texture maps required to render complete models, and
  45. extra textures and sequential maps for various facial expressions! That's not
  46. all, if you order package B you'll also get one free model of the sexy  
  47. Mai Shiranui from Fatal Fury II!

  49. You'll also get installation instructions and hints on how to achieve different
  50. looks with your Manga Babes. Plus, stunning ray-traced high-resolution 24-bit 
  51. scenes in JPEG format from various models derived from Manga Babes.

  56. WHAT DO I NEED?
  57. ---------------
  58. To create scenes with Manga Babes you'll need any 3D rendering program that 
  59. reads the formats that Manga Babes comes in, such as Imagine on the Amiga and
  60. 3D Studio on the PC. The three available formats and their respective target 
  61. software and systems are:

  102. Package A is designed for the average 3D enthusiast. You'll get the 2 manga
  103. babes as illustrated in "3DS.jpg". An unbelievable bargain if I ever know of 
  104. one! Although you won't get the extra facial textures and animated maps, there
  105. is enough of Manga Babes for you to generate stunning scenes.

  107. Package B is designed for more serious 3D users. You'll get all the manga babes
  108. illustrated in both "3DS.jpg" and "3DS2.jpg" in all 3 formats (Imagine, 3DS,
  109. DXF). Plus, you'll also get extra facial textures for different moods, animated 
  110. maps and one female personality model - the girl in the flaming scene in 
  111. "Babes3D2.jpg" - as a free gift.

  113. Package B is a superset of Package A. As of this time there is no upgrade path
  114. from A to B. I would recommend Package B if you're really serious about using
  115. human models in your rendering, and Package A if you're just curious about how
  116. I constructed the models ;) Remember you only get the BARE MINIMUM if you order
  117. package A.

  119. There is very little difference between Amiga, PC and DXF versions of Manga
  120. Babes. Apart from some inevitable but negligible conversion imperfections, all 
  121. three (Amiga, PC and DXF) meshes are almost identical in every respect. 
  122. However, different renderers handle data differently so the same mesh data may
  123. appear dissimilar in the outputs.

  126. CAN I USE THEM ON MY MACINTOSH/SGI/VIDEOTOASTER?
  127. ------------------------------------------------
  128. Why not? The only thing you'll need is a converter that can convert between 
  129. your renderer's format and Manga Babes'. A very common format for 3D modelling
  130. is AutoCAD DXF format. Be warned however that DXF is a very clumsy format 
  131. that eats up a lot of disk/memory space with objects as complex as Manga Babes.

  133. Also, DXF versions of Manga Babes do not come with mapping coordinates, so 
  134. you'll have to manually apply the texture maps once you have finished 
  135. converting the models. They are quite a hassle to use unless you just want
  136. the wireframe mesh.

  199. become available. You can also upgrade to new versions of Manga Babes at lower
  200. cost than new users. News of upgrade will be sent to you via email if you have
